When the Cardinals traded Granillo for Soriano, I hated that move. I didn’t know anything about Soriano other than he had one of the lowest FWAR totals last season of all pitchers in baseball. Plus, I always liked Granillo’s bulldog mentality. However, Soriano has been really good in our pen and Granillo has been a relative disaster for Washington.

June 14, 2026 at 3:27 pm #309919Right on, Jnevel. Soriano actually may be the closest we have out there in the pen somewhat resembling a closer.
June 14, 2026 at 3:31 pm #309920Winn with our game’s 10th challenge…..and the call is reversed. The Twin outfielders were already halfway to their dugout before having to execute an abrupt U-turn.
June 14, 2026 at 3:36 pm #309921Blaze may be here to stay as he does indeed look solid on both sides of the ball.
June 14, 2026 at 3:38 pm #309922Soriano does kind of resemble a young Bob Gibson out there on the mound(in appearance only)…..for some reason especially when he just held his glove up to his face
June 14, 2026 at 3:41 pm #309923This Twins offense has been impressive this series. It may be more because of our bullpen, but overall they’ve taken a lot of good at bats.
June 14, 2026 at 3:41 pm #309924Shucks! And now Buxton is back up…..seems like we see this guy every bottom half of an inning.
June 14, 2026 at 3:43 pm #309925Not a good sweeper from Soriano that went for a double.
June 14, 2026 at 3:45 pm #309926Well boys and girls, now is the time.
June 14, 2026 at 3:47 pm #309927Gomez (not of Addams Family fame) out to try to preserve Minnesota’s precarious 1 run lead.
June 14, 2026 at 3:49 pm #309928Can’t blame this challenge on our home plate ump. And unfortunately the call at 1st base is overturned and Fermin has to make a detour back to his dugout vs around the bases.
June 14, 2026 at 3:52 pm #309929It’s kinda like trying to land that slippery trout.
June 14, 2026 at 3:53 pm #309930Drop 2-3 in Minnesota, but return home to hopefully rough those Padres up again. Should have swept them 3 straight in San Diego earlier this year, but couldn’t seal the deal in the 9th of Game 3. I cannot recall the circumstances or events of that loss other than it was a toughie to lose.
June 14, 2026 at 3:54 pm #309931Not much offense in this one outside of our 9 and 1 hitters. Pretty big hole through the middle of the lineup.
June 14, 2026 at 3:57 pm #309932It’s kind of like trying to land a slippery trout.
Cardinal in France always thinking of great food. I haven’t had trout in ages, but thanks to Cardinal in France, I will be having some this coming week. I think Cracker Barrel has trout. Anyone here ever tried it?
June 14, 2026 at 3:59 pm #309933Very bad series by our bullpen. We had trouble holding leads in every game. This was a sweepable series and we only get one crummy game out if it. Kind of like my parents going to Austin and they only got me this lousy T-shirt.
June 14, 2026 at 4:06 pm #309934Our pitching must have given up a lead a record number of times this series. Starters and relievers seem both guilty.
June 14, 2026 at 5:23 pm #309936The Rockies and A’s were tied 5-5 after 2 innings. It’s now 23-9 Colorado in the 8th. I think this one qualifies as a slugfest.
June 14, 2026 at 8:00 pm #309938Yet another blown lead by the useless bullpen! Absolutely infuriating! This team has lost games in hand and could readily compete for division with some pitching, particularly the bullpen! Romero, Bruihl and Stanek are useless. Romero and Soriano couldn’t hold a 2 run lead today against low average hitters!
