Maybe both sides will use up their challenges early and we will be done with this newfangled nonsense.

Just received information that the 3 successful overturned calls that we had in the top of the 1st inning did set a record for one half inning of play. McGreevy wiggles out of a 1st inning pickle that was instigated by a leadoff Buxton double to left.

Blake Aita gets pulled after 2 outs in the first inning for Peoria. Looks like he was limping some so that may actually be a decent thing (non arm).

I saw her behind home plate at Doyer Stadium week before last.

Looks like Rat may have abandoned his former love with Front Row Amy for this new home plate umpire. I never imagined in my wildest dreams seeing Rat send a dozen red roses to a ML ump……but here we are.

Fan interference? I guess not because Noot reached into the stands. But McGreevy strikes him out on the next pitch anyway and it was 3 up and 3 down in the bottom of the 2nd. Now it’s time for our Homer Happy Cardinals to dent the scoreboard.

I wonder if they’ll retire Jen’s #95 in honor of her breaking the sex barrier.

Church laces a 2 out single to center here in the top of the 3rd for our first of what we hope will be many Redbird hits.

I think Winn would have gloved that grounder…..oh oh Buxton coming up with 1 out and 1 on……don’t touch that dial….stay tuned.

Wow we actually got Buxton out as he waved at an outside pitch about a foot off the plate.

I was pretty certain Winn would have had that grounder as well Pugs. That almost cost us. Good defense can be oh so valuable.

Burleson hitting some monster homers lately.

Burly whallops a long tater to right in the face of some pretty stiff winds. 1-0 Cards.

He sure has, Jnevel. Not only in distance, but also in height. He’s really evolving into a majestic power hitter. His homers remind me of the ones Billy Williams used to whack.

I was a huge Burleson fan 3 years ago. I thought he reminded me of John Kruk with his hitting.

But at the start of last season, I thought he should have been traded due to us having Contreras long term and I hated seeing Burly in the outfield. And while Contreras is really good, I’m glad he finally waived his no trade clause so we can keep Burleson and play him at first.

We are on pace for maybe 15 overturned calls today! 5 so far here in the bottom of the fourth.

Yes, that’s our 5th challenge Jnevel, as Bell took umbridge with the strike call…….and once again the call is overturned. That’s a perfect 5-5.

And now Caratini whacks a 2 run homer to right and just like that the Twinkies seize a 2-1 advantage.

2 of those overturned calls have been pretty bad. That last one was multiple inches high.

I believe three batters have overturned three calls in one plate appearance.

    The first was Matt McLain

The other two were Miguel Rojas and Salvador Perez.

Surprise surprise, Buxton rips a 1 out single here in the Minnesota 5th. Watch him as he just may try to swipe a base while he’s at it.

Wow, great info, LACARDFAN. I’ll have to after the gang over at the esteemed Elias Sports Bureau for their misinformation.

A 6-4-3 “Twin” killing gets McGreevy and Co. out of trouble in the 5th. Still 2-1 Twins.

I had a feeling JJ was going to hit a big fly that PA and he pulls one and rips it out of RF

Church gets the ball rolling in a positive direction by coaxing a leadoff walk off Bradley here in the 6th……and then JJ performs his best Burly impersonation by drilling a long high tater to right…..3-2 Birds.

Waving at those outside pitches is sure Walker’s bugaboo. He’s refrained so well this year, but every once in awhile he has a bugaboo type game……oh here’s our 6th challenge……my golly this one is not overturned…..kudos to our HP ump.
