Good to see Jordan get that first single. I didn’t expect him to be good about laying off some close pitches.
Hence pitched the 7th for Memphis and got a grounder and two K’s. Mostly 4 seamers and sinkers, both of which hit 95. Last was 95.7.
Yeah Gagliano – I’m hoping Hence, Rajcic, and Hjerpe all find their way into our bullpen by season’s end.
Nice debut for the Blazer. Hope they can get this one in, but if the delay is long it might mess up Leahy’s start. Too bad we don’t have Dobbins available.
Din-din was Asian style – chicken, veggies and noodles. Thought about adding a cold, frosty one on a Friday night but wasn’t feeling it and had water. Dessert will be a small bowl of black raspberry ice cream. I can’t really do a big bowl of ice cream like Rat does. As I have gotten older that over-eating feeling just isn’t appealing, at least for me. And sweets especially make my head hurt if I have too much.

That’s a lot of bullpen guys! Especially because I could see Dobbins doing the long relief/piggyback thing for a stretch.
I just went back and watched the video of Hence. After the 5th pitch to the last batter, he shook his hand and the trainer came out and looked. Blister? Fingernail? Regardless, he threw a couple practice pitches then came back with a pitch low in the zone for a foul ball then at the top for a whiff on his fastest pitch of the day. His body language looked good to me. We might just see him this year.
Radar looks like they should soon have a window of an hour or so, but I’d bet there will be a delay later.
Swapped over to the Brewers game to watch Misiorowski. His stuff is unhittable and he knows it. He just pounds the strike zone daring hitters to swing knowing they can’t hit it. He has been pitching so efficiently the last few games because of it.
Yep, Gags, the Doppler Radar shows about an hour in between the rain clouds. The next one coming might be bigger than the current one that’s causing the delay.
My late night din-din will be a Salisbury Steak sandwich with lettuce and mayo, a big piece of Angel Food cake with chocolate icing, an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew, and if the Cards are rained out I’ll be tuning it to the Cubs and Giants out west from Candlestick Park in San Francisco.

Mister Kolwalski is through eight innings tonight for the Brewers at County Stadium in Milwaukee. No runs, one hit, 14 strikeouts.Not too shabby.
Misioworski faced the minimum but with 1 hit and only 95 pitches. 15 strikeouts. What a performance.
Peoria wins and is 16-5 in their last 21 games.
Memphis wins and at least will keep a tie with Nashville for the league lead for the first half. Nashville trails 7-4 after 8.
Dinner was carryout of broiled swordfish with a baked potato and corn on the cob. Then I had the “small” ice cream (amaretto, cherry, chocolate) and it was maybe the largest ice cream I’ve stared at since I was in college. Nearly half of it is in the freezer….
Just noticed that all four of the Cards’ bench players now have positive fWARs.

I have no choice other than to agree that tonight’s CG shutout turn from Misiorowski is beyond impressive. What’s really astonishing is that besides the 15 K’s with 0 ER’s on 1 hit is that he K’d those 15 Philly hitters on only 95 pitches in his 9 innings of work. The 15 K’s must have come on 45 pitches…In any case, he’s most definitely one of those first rate Linda Ronstadt sort of RHP’ers…
I don’t think I’ve yet to see an ABS challenge that proved the HPU to have that bad of a problem with his eyesight…That 3-1 pitch was neck high. He should be embarrassed.
Yeah 1TD staying under 100 pitches with 15 Ks is incredible. Misiorowski threw only 19 pitches that were called a ball.
Umpire is indeed having a bad night judging balls and strikes. Looked like Jordan’s third strike was really ball 4, but closer. I don’t think I’ve seen a challenge where they don’t say how many inches off it was.

Bases clearing 2 out double from Walker! Burleson was really leaking oil and ready to spin a bearing rounding 3B, but he got in there safe at HP for the 7th run…Haha!
I said this the other day, but Walker continues to have his name listed in almost every top 10 offensive category. He’s now just 1 RBI off the pace for the Big League lead in that category and both he and Burleson are among the top ten RBI leaders in the entire Big Leagues. And no other NL team has two players listed among the top 10 in RBI’s. That’s pretty good.
