Me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch at first pitch for this one.
And din-din today will be a Subway Sweet Onion Chicken Terayaki sandwich, some baked beans, and a big bowl of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream. Along with an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew. And then a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente Cigar at first pitch later tonight.

I’m still savoring last night’s thriller, and have replayed that third baseline dribbler at least half a dozen times. Let’s hope our Birds can keep on the winning track.
Din-din this evening was a Boursin and spinach quiche, with a bit of green salad on the side, followed by a little butter pecan ice cream.

We’re getting drilled tonight……and oh how it pains me to write these words. Let’s call it 8-2 Bucs with Reynolds ramrodding a tape measure shot way up into the cold steel rafters in left. Church has quickly become the player I’m most anxious to watch. Let’s hope he’s not a proverbial flash in the pan, like so many before him.
I’m doing something I’ve never done before in calling the winner of our Game Thread Din-Din of The Day before the very first pitch has been flung. Other please feel free to weigh in on your din-dins, but nobody is topping Rat’s. So rare where every item eloquently flows into the next with such culinary perfection…..sweet onion chicken teriyaki sandwich on open prairie wheat bread…..to Boston’s finest baked beans……to a heaping bowl of Turkey Hill vanilla bean ice cream…..all cleanly washed down with some frosty slushy Mt. Dew…….and to finalize this din-din fit for a mighty and just king, it’s the cigar of the ages with the 7×50 Real Palma Presidente smooth but still surprisingly stout cigar. On any other day, Cardinal in France’s entry here would have easily prevailed. Congrats Rat!
Yes, Rat is a master of culinary nuance and segue. Lady Bling is home so I am back to eating right.
I doubt we get a 6 inning start tonight. I’ll take 5 and the lead.
Taking a gander at tonight’s meteorological conditions at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh. Doesn’t seem to be any green stuff in the greater Pittsburgh area so we might have some nice weather for this one.
Having said that, with the Monongahela, Allegheny, and Ohio Rivers right there all together it’s possible some rain or storms could appear at any moment.
I am the opposite of Pugs on this one. I think the Redbirds will do the drilling tonight. I am going to call this one 8-2 Cards instead.
Later tonight I will be watching the Marlins and Doyers from Doyer Stadium. Ohtani will be on the hill tonight for the Doyers. The Doyers scored three runs in the last of the 9th last night and pulled out a 5-4 win over the Marlins.
We are leaning towards grabbing a take and bake pizza from Papa Murphy’s for din-din as they do a Tuesday special. We will build a big ole salad here, keep the liquids boring having water. One thing about it Rocky Mountain west, we are always dehydrated so you need to have a lot of water. Even when I have a cold, frosty one I will chase it down with a big glass of water.
That game last night was one to savor. An instant classic for Cards fans. Unfortunately I see us dropping these next three in the former Steel Town and in May setting up shop firmly in the NLC cellar. Hopefully I am wronger than Wrongy Wrongington about that, but while we have some nice players and will see better days, other clubs are more talented.
Speaking of last night, Buc manager Kelly lost that game for them. Pulling Dotel after 44 pitches of perfect work, and parading a bunch of guys out there while leaving the ‘pen dry at the end was dumb. He used 8 pitchers in a game where 8 innings were near perfect. That is a text book case of over managing.
6 NL teams have positive run differentials of at least 14 runs. Only one AL team has a positive run differential of at least 11 runs. Then NL has a record of 88-65 against the NL. Is this a fluke, or has the NL gotten to a spot where it is this much better than the AL? Some is probably that Washington and Philly on ly have 3 interleague games so far, but 10 NL teams are better than .500 in interleague games, and only 4 are below .500. Only 3 AL teams are above .500.
Oh, dinner will be carryout from a local grilling place tonight…chicken breast filet sandwich, a side of deep fried yucca, and a broccoli-bacon salad.

Din din for tonight and the next few nights is of the vegetarian variety. Minestrone soup with boiled okra and rolls. Boiled is definitely not my favorite but my daughter prefers okra boiled so boiled it is.

Up 3-0, but I still have a very bad feeling about this game. Would love to go up 8-0, then I could breathe a bit easier.
Pugs, I don’t expect to win many din dins of the night. We try to eat healthier for the most part although when eating out we will splurge. I will say I’m not the biggest beef fan. After eating healthier for a few years now really fatty food like burgers aren’t appetizing to me. If we get beef it is typically lean 93/7. Kind of ironic since eny wife grew up in a dairy farm and my family had beef cattle for a while.
Fantastic Albert! I wish I could find the strength to eat right, but I just cannot resist devouring beef, cookies, candy, donuts, cake, pies, chips and ice cream . If anyone has any tips for me changing my diet, then I’m all ears.
Boy Walker has been stuck on 8 homers for a heck of a long time. Tonight would be a perfect time to change that.

Pugs, my advice if you do want to eat healthier. Do it in steps. If you try to full swap all at once, you will have a much harder time. Instead just make minor changes that add up over time.
Sugary drinks are probably the worst for you and easiest to cut out. I used to have a lot of sweet tea. I started off cutting off one glass a day and did that for a while reducing for a bit every couple of weeks. Then I got to where I only had it when eating out. Then I stopped that and swapped to unsweet. At this point I really like the unsweet, natural tea flavor. If I accidentally get a sweet tea, I can’t drink it as it is just way too sweet for my palette now.
