After surrendering the lead-off BB, Pallante recovers to work a nice 1st inning.
April 24, 2026 at 7:29 pm #305725Kirby works through the home half on only 5 pitches.
April 24, 2026 at 7:35 pm #305726Every time I see a baserunner attempting to advance from 2B to 3B on a deep fly ball to the CF, I think of Rick Ankiel.
April 24, 2026 at 7:37 pm #305727Pallante can’t work around the lead-off double…1-0, Seattle.
April 24, 2026 at 7:43 pm #305728Man, Walker looks better but still takes a lot of pitches he should jump on and hammer.
April 24, 2026 at 7:49 pm #305729Kirby’s stature and delivery appears very similar to O’Riley O’Brien’s.
April 24, 2026 at 7:52 pm #305730Yeah, Bikemike, and I’ve noticed that he still has a strong tendency to chase after a pitch that even Ty Cobb couldn’t hit.
April 24, 2026 at 7:56 pm #305731The Cubbies won’t get any bargains as they try to hang a 10th consecutive W up on the board at Dodger Stadium later on this evening.
April 24, 2026 at 8:04 pm #305732Good call 1TD – Kirby does look similar to O’Brien.
Ozzie in the house. Saw he is signing at the National Sports Collectors Convention this year. I met him at a show and got his signature a few years ago. Great guy – got him to laugh out loud in our conversation.
April 24, 2026 at 8:08 pm #305733Pallante growing his playoff beard early.
April 24, 2026 at 8:10 pm #305734So far we’ve got one hit through 3 innings.
April 24, 2026 at 8:11 pm #305735M’s with a Raley and a Raleigh. Maybe in the ninth inning our guy Riley will face Raleigh and Raley.
April 24, 2026 at 8:14 pm #305736An unimpressive throw home by Fermin, now 2 nothing.
April 24, 2026 at 8:18 pm #305737Pallante gives up an RBI slow chopper to basically where a SS normally stands. No big deal there. That was poor contact, which is normally a good thing. The problem was the free pass and the fact that he’s one of the easiest pitchers to steal off of, which that combo left the first hitter in scoring position.
And I agree Bling. That was very poor throw from Fermin.
April 24, 2026 at 8:23 pm #305738Man, Walker is flailing at the pitch off the outside again too often. Anything on the outer half with less than two strikes he needs to let go. He did attack a 3-2 pitch in the zone there, fouling it off. Then grounds a pitch up and in for a force out.
April 24, 2026 at 8:24 pm #305739Bad break on the GRD.
April 24, 2026 at 8:24 pm #305740Gorman had a pitch to hit and swing through it. Don’t miss the second one though.
April 24, 2026 at 8:27 pm #305741Nice piece of hitting by both Gorman and especially Winn.
April 24, 2026 at 8:27 pm #305742Winn fights back from oh and two to tie it!
April 24, 2026 at 8:27 pm #305743And Winn with the 2 out, 2 RBI looper to RF to negate the ill effects of the evil baseball gypsies and the GRD…Tie game!
April 24, 2026 at 8:31 pm #305744Need an effective inning of work from Pallante to keep it tied up for the Redbird bats in the home half.
April 24, 2026 at 8:35 pm #305745I’m trying not to get too excited but Gorman’s now hitting .228 on the young season…Hey, it’s 10 pts. above his career BA.
April 24, 2026 at 8:35 pm #305746Nice rally there. I agree Walker might be backsliding a bit chasing those faders.
April 24, 2026 at 8:36 pm #305747Chase Davis just hit his 2nd 2-run homer of the night to go along with a single. It would be great if that guy could ever figure out hitting because he’s a very good center fielder. I really hope this is his year.
April 24, 2026 at 8:36 pm #305748I don’t have too much of an issue regarding the 2 out BB to Raleigh.
