May’s quest for a respectable ERA continues today.

Din-din today will be a 4pm trip over to Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse, where I’ll be summoning the Steak Diavolo (Steak & shrimp) front and center to the plate. Also on tap will be some shrimp cocktail and buttered asparagus spears. Then for dessert I have a homemade chocolate pecan pie waiting in the wings that my nice next door neighbors dropped off this morning.

The Redbird bats will be a booming this evening in southern Florida. Let’s call it 8-4 Birds shall we.

Din-din today here in Loogootee, Indiana will be a Tuna sandwich from Subway. It will have lettuce, onions, and mayo on it. Along with some deviled eggs. And a couple of heaping bowls of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream for dessert.

Then later tonight, about the time of the conclusion of the Cards/Miami game that coincides with the 1st pitch from Candlestick Park between the Doyers and Giants I will have some bar-b-q wings and a couple of yeast donuts heated a little while in the microwave. In other words, my scavenger hunt down to Schucks today was successful in locating those yeast donuts and bar-b-q wings.

I am not quite forecasting as high as Pugs is. I am going with this one as a 6-3 Redbirds win.

I will be attending a college baseball game tonight between the Arkansas Razorbacks and Missouri St. Bears here at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville, AR. It should be a barn burner. Three weeks ago at Hammons Field up in Springfield, MO the Bears beat the Hogs 15-14 in a wild 10 inning affair so I am sure the home team will be out for revenge tonight.

I will be checking my phone on the Cards-Marlins score as I consume a couple of Hot Dogs with mustard and a large Diet Coke. I will also be paying close attention to Ryder Helfrick as he has been listed as a potential Cardinal draft pick in a few months.

That should be fun, gscottar. I spent a considerable amout of time visiting Springfield when my son attended what was then SMSU in the early to mid ’00’s. The Bears advanced to the college WS at Omaha in ’03, but lost to Rice who eventually won it all. I vividly recall closely following all of those games on ESPN that summer.

Yeah these two teams are two of the better college baseball programs in this part of the country and they have had some geat matchups over the years.

Let’s call Scotty’s game 7-5 Bears over the Backs yet once again. I’m setting the over/under on Walker getting on base tonight at 3. Made my day seeing that Rat was able to get his mitts on a batch of his yeast donuts in beautiful Logootoo today. Deviled eggs and yeast donuts……is there a better culinary combo on the planet?

Din-din from central Oklahoma was spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread plus some baby gherkin dill pickles.
Always good to plate a run in the first.

Another rifle throw by Walker! Too bad the hit was ruled a homer.

Din din tonight was chicken breasts lightly sauteed in butter, then placed in a baking dish, smothered in onions, covered with tomato slices, then a layer of gouda cheese with cumin cut into thin strips. Put a cup or so of creme into the skillet and scrape up the butter and chicken juice and pour over the chicken. Bake for 20 mins or so until cheese is melted and golden. Serve with brown rice. This is a dish concocted by Madame CiF many years ago. Dessert was once again a slice of chocolate cake.
    Rah Cardinals!

I happened to glance up at the scoreboard to notice that the Reds have already jumped out to an early 4-0 2nd inning lead over the Rays. I won’t venture a guess as to whether they can sustain their winning ways for the long haul but NL team from Ohio is playing pretty good early this season. Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to play a game or two against those kids…

It’s been a genuine mismatch for Scott at times this season. He does have a handful of runs scored and RBI’s to go with the 3 SB’s, but he has to reach base better than a .262 clip.

In regards to thievery, Wetherholt and Winn have 7 SB’s between the two them and have yet to be CS. I’d run both of them wide open until they each spun a bearing.

A special day here at the Bikey Mikey casa as it is anniversary #25 for yours truly and the still lovely Lady Bike. We threw together a wonderful Italian sausage spaghetti, tossed salad and garlic bread. A glass of red wine to add the finishing touch.

Let’s hope the Redbirds add a win to the ledger and start on another 5 in a row.

Winn has been playing much better lately and it is nice to see as him hitting really improves the line up.

I don’t know where the heck Marsee thought he was going, but it turns out he’s going to sit down in the dugout.
