Indeed, nice missing Sandy in this series. MM (Michael McGreevy) vs MM (Max Meyer). Win this one and we move to 14-8 on the season. Let that sink in…..14-8. Since Jimmy The Greek is no longer with us, I seriously doubt anyone saw this coming. Let’s hope they continue to surprise. To do so, changes must continue to be made. For starters, I want Gassy (Luis Enrique Gastelum) brought up here pronto for middle relief duties.

I’m calling this one 5-3 Birds with JJ finding the cheap seats with bat in hand.

And what’s for din-din one may inquire? I’ll be heading over to Olive Garden in a couple hours, where I’ll order the eggplant with extra cheese and sauce, 2 Italian sausages, salad (minus the croutons) and enough breadsticks to choke a horse. Then on my way home I’ll swing on through Popeye’s drive thru lane to snag 3 apple cinnamon pies for a tasty dessert.

Din din on a warm evening here in the south of France was sausages and sauerkraut with boiled potatoes slathered in butter, in honor of our Alsatian friends, followed by a slice of chocolate cake.
I’ll try to stay awake long enough to catch the first inning or two before stumbling off to jamais jamais pays.

What are the odds another game Wetherholt and Herrera are hit by pitches to lead things off

And there was the Walker we saw all last year and most of the Spring. Ugh.

Sausage and kraut sounds good CIF. I had caramelized peppers and shaved steak in a whole wheat wrap with hot pepper cheese and sour cream. 2 of them. Washed it down with diet Arnie Palmer half and half lemonade and tea. Go Cards. I think those were sweepers Walker chased.

Talk about a Din-din double play. Cardinal in France and KeepComingBack weigh in with a couple din-dins that cannot be surpassed. Well done gentlemen!

I think it’s obvious that Michael McGreevy is here to stay……and there’s Walker with a 1 out sizzling single to center to keep his quest for 57 still alive. Now Walker swipes 2nd. Gorman needs to come through here……Walker to 3rd on a WP…..Gorman walks. Masyn with a healthy fly to left-center that will bring Walker home with ease….1-0 Birds. Urias is gifted a base hit grounder down the 3rd baseline by both the 3rd baseman’s miscue and some shoddy judgement compliments of the official scorer. Saggese whiffs

Good sequencing there. I’m not sure why Meyer quit throwing that nasty sweeper but we will take it.

Wonder who has a better arm…..Masyn or Brett Favre in his prime? Great play by Masyn on that slow grounder.

Ground rule double by Edward’s knots this game up at a run apiece. Boy Sagesse was playing wayyy in on Edwards……almost as if BicycleMike’s Ron Hrbel was at the plate.

Favre. But he would have thrown it to the other team.

I actually come from a family of Packers fans although I was a Redskins fan for whatever reason until Dan Snyder bought the team.

Favre threw a lot of touchdowns and a lot of interceptions. He was always going to go for it despite the odds. That made him fun. And somewhat infuriating.

I had high hopes for Victor coming into this season, but I’m not seeing much, if any, improvement over last year. Maybe he’ll never hit. I think they will give him to the all-star break to see if there’s a light at the end of the tunnel in regards to his offensive abilities.

Top of 5……Herrera with a 2 out base hit, but then Burly taps out to the pit her Meyer.

There’s little hope for Victor right now but there’s no other real option. Church is similar. You lose a touch of speed in a trade for an ever so slightly better bat.

Baez could be there by August if everything goes right. He’s not really a CFer but he can play it well enough to add more total value if he can run a WRC+ north of 100.

Augustino Ramirez ramrods a McGreevy offering just over the left-center wall to propel the Marlins into a 2-1 lead.

Bark in the Park Night in Miami tonight. Look for Rat and Whitey HerDog……you never know, Rat may have sprung for a couple 1st class airline tickets for the event.

There are no direct flights from Southwest Indiana to Miami. Maybe that’ll change tomorrow. But not today.

Maybe Rat saved money and flew to Miami on Air Iran, Jnevel.

I forgot to check that airline. Foolish me. They probably allow Cardinal-named dogs to fly first class as well.

    Top of 6

    Walker walked

Gorman flies out to short left

Meyer gets yanked after 91 pitches…..and 8 K’s. Very nicely pitched game……glad he’s out of there.

    Faucher on for Miami

Winn whacks one that glances off the pitchers glove and out into center field for a hit……Walker to 3rd.

Now a PB brings Walker in and Winn all the way around to 3rd…..tied at 2-2.

Saggese grounds out to retire the side.

How many challenges do they get on these ball/strike calls?
