1TD, they get unlimited challenges if they get the call overturned. Only 2 incorrect challenges per team.

Good question TD……I want to say if they get 2 calls that are not reversed, then they’re not allowed any more…..somebody will clarify.

I think if the ball/strike challenge proves that the HPU indeed made the correct call the hitter should get the ol’ heave-ho for arguing balls/strikes…That’ll teach ’em.

Thanks, Forsch. That ingenious rule will certainly serve to, “speed up the game”…

Geesh, I walk out to the curb to get my mail and when I get back the wheels have come totally off. Marlins up 4-2 and McGreevy has been yanked…..not one of his better games.

Perfect throw from Winn to cut down the baserunner trying to score on the misplay from Scott. If Winn doesn’t get him, that’s a big Das Boot from the CF’er that gives up a run.

Keep waiting for victor to catch fire, but patience beginning to wear thin.

I’m surprised it’s not Fernandez coming in.

Speaking of rule changes 1TD, after several deaths between just 4 football teams in college football, they made a “no slugging” rule. It hasn’t been the same since.

Andrew Nardi (not to be confused with Andrew Hardy) on to pitch the 7th for Miami.

Casey at the bat? Heck, Casey at the glove as he makes a nice running catch on a Herrera foul down the right field line…….Cards go down in order.

    FYI here,

Me and Whitey Herdog did not fly Air Iran to Miami for the game.

I am going down to Schnucks in Jasper to get some really good yeast donuts tomorrow. And hopefully some bar-b-q wings.

Maybe Fermin in center until we get our long term center field solution?

That play by Fermin was eye-opening. Tremendous catch in CF. Yes, Church and Scott would have run that down. Seeing Fermin get it though was impressive.

    Maybe Pugs. Maybe.

Well maybe an Iranian cabby will be taking Rat to Snuckers in Jasper tomorrow to get his delicious yeast donuts.

Come on Svanny……can’t allow any more runs. Runners straddling 1st and 2nd with 2 down……and he induces a lazy pop foul to Burly at 1st…..we move to the 8th in a 4-2 Miami ballgame.

That wasn’t a pretty inning by Svanson, but he got the result he wanted. I think he has 2 problems. He’s overthrowing just a bit and missing spots somewhere between by just a little to by a whole lot. I think that’s fixable and seems to be getting better. The other issue is it sure seems like he’s tipping pitches given how good the wood has been on him so often. I’m not sure how quickly he can fix that but I’m sure Ollie’s crew is trying.

Ugly swings by Walker and Gorman on balls 10 inches off the plate. We have a huge sweeper problem tonight.

4 hits and 11 k’s for our offense tonight through 8.

Fernandez on for the bottom of the 8th. Leadoff walk to start it off.

Pretty even game till it wasn’t. Need some late inning magic if we’re gonna pull this one out. Bet that umpires getting tired of the catcher challenging his calls. We need more production from the top of our order. Too many guys not heard from tonight. Not that far from Houston to Miami! Besides that stadium is air conditioned!

Fernandez walks another because why not? He is part of the Cardinals bullpen and that’s what they seem to do. Then he gives up a scorcher to right to put us down another run but Walker throws a bullet all the way to get the runner going first to third and that guy is out. Just the way Fernandez drew it up.

Grounder and strikeout of the rookie and ex-Cub Cassie end our misery. Onto the 9th.
