    Church should be benched.

If I were Winn I’d have chosen jersey #5 instead of #0. They’d have probably let him have it.

Bench Church? That’d be like benching Manny Motter…

    Church should be benched

I think that’s coming quick unless he greatly atones for his mental error, Booyah. Whitey Herzog would have yanked him immediately upon his return to the dugout.

I think that seeing eye grounder between 1st and 2nd could have been blind and still got through our infield.

I just happened to notice that Manny Motter played with the Kiwoom Heroes in S.Korea. The Heroes paid him 350K and then quickly realized they had no use for him and released him after only 10 games…Manny was as smart as a whip. I’ll bet the Cardinals paid him a lot more money than that. And the little whiz-kid seemed to always find a way to have Manny slotted somewhere in the lineup. I always loved to see him in there too! Every team needs at least one Manny and the one we had was legendary…I’m hoping Manny gets fitted for one of those gaudy red sport coats once he becomes eligible.

A quick glimpse of the NL out-of-town scoreboard reveals the cubbies getting pelted 13-7 by the Phillies and Pittsburgh bombarding Washington 15-5…..both games in the 8th. A good night for Pennsylvania baseball fans.

The top of rotation guy needs to go more than 5 innings.

The two teams that are playing the best baseball right now are the Padres and A’s who’ve both won 5 in a row. I’m guessing that the Padres are going to be up against a tall order in keeping pace with the Dodgers in the NLW, but they’re playing like they want to compete with the monster out in LA. Two of the teams that are struggling are both situated in NY. Both the Yankees and Mets have lost 5 in a row. And the once mighty Astros have lost 8 consecutive baseball games. Ouch…8 in a row can be really painful when those 8 are L’s.

And Walker just jacked his 8th dong of the year now.

    6-2 Cleveland at this point.

He continues to mash taters. Someone may reach base in front of him before he cools off.

Yep jordan has seemed to turn it around. Pretty soon in close games they are gonna start walking him.

Gorman’s destiny in life appears to be to miss that up and in on the hands fastball for the K.

Walker had the other 3 hitters on the team with the best OBP in front of him, but unfortunately none of them are ever on base when he jacks a HR

Funny how that works, Albert. I’ve always thought it had something to do with the evil baseball gypsies…

Interesting to see who takes over in CF after Church and Scott get pinch hit for. Saggese? Pages?

Walker is striking out 40% of the time with runners on. He’s still a better than league average hitter, but with bases empty he’s looking like the best hitter ever . . . so far.

Fermin looked a bit uncomfortable catching a routine longish fly ball there in CF. Let’s hope he doesn’t get too many more hit his way.

Nice inning graccefo. I would have let scott hit, he gets an infield hit and top of order is up plus you have good defense in center but i understand why they pinch hit.

Maybe I am not remembering correctly, but didn’t JW have ducks on the pond earlier and stood and watched strike 3 yet again. Can the manager or coaching staff instill a 2 strike approach into this kid? Mash away in favorable counts, but with two strikes shorten up and guard the dish.. geez

Saw earlier that phil garner died. Played for pirates aa well as others, also managed for a long time i believe. He was a solid player, kind of guy you need on your team.
