I absolutely love it when Scotty breaks out his Spanish! Not quite to the degree as to when Morticia unleashed her French on Gomez…….but still pretty exhilarating, Scotty.
Well extra innings again unfortunately. Short start and extras for a double header. May have to see if Mikolas can give us 6 as much as I really hate the idea of him pitching more than 5

Some interesting stuff happening in the minors today. Palm Beach completely blew a game they were up 7-2 late to go down 10-7. Then they came back and walked it off on a 2-out homer. Roby, Showalter, and Rajcic all with great pitching performances thus far.
Well luckily there’s an opportunity for quick redemption today. How about we lay about 12 or 13 runs on these guys in Game 2 of this twin bill.

Well that was a disappointing evening of baseball and does not put me in the mood to stay up half the night to watch an encore. However Pages did make me smile. Gotta love that kid.

Well Oli just said post game that the running mistake was all on the player and not the coach. Said if a player makes a mistake he’d rather it be on the aggressive side. Which in that situation I 100% disagree.

It can look that way when Herrera’s bat is hot. But arms don’t go cold the way bats do. I guess it could be moot for a while if Herrera is out. Neither one is an everyday catcher, IMO.
I guess some folks lost their head over a couple of wins to start the year. The pre-season assessment was correct.
3 extra innings losses already. Certainly that’s a way to make a middling talent team and make sure they can’t contend. Looking like a reverse of last year where we may underperform our Pythagorean record.

Then why do we even need a 1st base coach if the players call the shots? I think Oli was just shielding Clapp from being on the receiving end of some well deserved flak, Booyah.
A runner rounding first has the play in front of him. Its not little league where the 1B coach has to tell the kid what to do.

Not quite sure I understand that, but anyway a bad bad loss with some poor indicators on how this season may play out. Still love our boys through thick and thin.
With respect to Pallante, how does one throw 92 pitches in 4.1 innings?
Someone said that he kept us in the game. Not really. When your starter only goes 4.1 innings, you are gonna use many relievers. And the more relievers you use, the more likely one of them is gonna have a bad night.
8 walks issued in 9.1 innings. That negates the fact that you out hit the opponent 11 to 8.
Or we can be blowed out after the first or second inning? I’ll take the Pallante start and be glad we got it.
Mikolas and Fedde results don’t need a bullpen behind them, just a position player to backfill on the mound, to continue their beat down.

My how expectations have cratered. A year or two ago everybody on this thread, including me, was ready throw any starting pitcher with less than 5.2 innings of work under the buss. Now some are happy with 4.1 innings of work out of a starter, if they don’t give up more than two runs, lol!!
