Steve, you were also ready to pull the plug on this whole season coming into it and you wanted most everyone gone! Have patience with Walker. Giving up on him may be one of the most foolish moves ever made. It’s not his fault the team promoted him too quickly and threw him to the fire. I’m giving him another season and a half to get right. And I’m ok with watching him struggle his way through it.
With Gorman, I think it’s ok to start getting a little impatient. But I will point out that he’s getting really close to breaking out. Or at least I think he is by watching the at bats he’s taking lately. The results aren’t there at all. But the process is improving.
JJ, Christopher Sanchez is on the mound for the Phillies tomorrow and Jesus Luzardo the next. So 3 really tough lefties in a row and Scott will have to play 2 of 3 at least. If Scott’s wants to keep the hit streak up, he will have to hit lefties as well. I like Oli leaving him in there today as I have faith in Scott’s ability.
It goes without saying that no LH’ed hitter ever learned to hit LH’ed pitching while he was being platooned. If they want Scott to be their CF’er, he has to play regardless of who’s slated to pitch.
