Nice!…That’s precisely right, osuagec. Yeah, J.R. was no joke out there on the mound. I saw him work several times from my seat at Busch Memorial. Players on the whole weren’t nearly as big as what seems to be today’s par for the course giants, and when Richard was situated on the pitching mound it looked like a man was pitching with a bunch of 4th graders backing him up on the field of play. In addition to that, for several years it looked as though it just wasn’t fair when when Redbird hitters faced the big RH’er. He was as close to unhittable as any pitcher I’ve ever seen. It’s a shame what happened to the poor guy.

    It’s Opening Day!

    Everybody excited?

What’s the weather forecast? From what the Weather Channel showed late last night it appears there is a good chance of rain in both St.Louis and Cincinnati.

    Almost din-din time.

I just checked the Doppler Radar. Rain is currently just north of St. Louis. We’ll be lucky if we get this game in. The Reds and Giants in Cincinnati might be facing a similar type situation.

But, on a good note, both teams have Friday off so perhaps its just a one day delay if indeed the game(s) are rained out today.

Still looks like rain in the St. Louis area. Anybody nearby that can update us on the weather?

This board seems to be quiet so far today. Does everybody realize this is indeed Opening Day?

Currently a light drizzle, Rats. Not enough water to delay a tennis match much less a baseball game.

That is a terrible batting order.

Does nobody with the Cardinals have a clue when it comes to lineups?????

I see that Ollie is still obsessed with the LH, RH, LH, etc… approach.

Well mlb.tv is not working for me. I have tried to dial in to the Orioles-Blue Jays games on all my devices and get a network error every time. I can bring up the recorded programs, but the live stuff does not work.

I wonder if they are getting bombarded with people wanting access and it is tripping the system?

No MLB.tv here either. That’s bad timing for a game hoping to grow.

My Pink Freebie seemed frozen for 45 seconds.

I’m getting nothing but errors and failed authorization.
I have plenty of bandwidth. I watched a few days ago, even live iirc.

Was Willie McGee at opening day today? I was a little distracted, but I didn’t see him come out with the other red jackets…

Well, the terrible lineup has scored 4 runs in 4 innings to lead 4-0 behind the pitching of the “hurt” Sonny Gray.

Willie was not in anything I saw and I think I saw the whole ceremony.

Donovan bails out his pitcher with the nice play to start the 4-6-3.

Great catch in the right-center gap by Scott to save a run.
