Nice!…That’s precisely right, osuagec. Yeah, J.R. was no joke out there on the mound. I saw him work several times from my seat at Busch Memorial. Players on the whole weren’t nearly as big as what seems to be today’s par for the course giants, and when Richard was situated on the pitching mound it looked like a man was pitching with a bunch of 4th graders backing him up on the field of play. In addition to that, for several years it looked as though it just wasn’t fair when when Redbird hitters faced the big RH’er. He was as close to unhittable as any pitcher I’ve ever seen. It’s a shame what happened to the poor guy.
March 27, 2025 at 10:41 am #278093It’s Opening Day!
Everybody excited?
What’s the weather forecast? From what the Weather Channel showed late last night it appears there is a good chance of rain in both St.Louis and Cincinnati.
Almost din-din time.

March 27, 2025 at 10:56 am #278096I just checked the Doppler Radar. Rain is currently just north of St. Louis. We’ll be lucky if we get this game in. The Reds and Giants in Cincinnati might be facing a similar type situation.
But, on a good note, both teams have Friday off so perhaps its just a one day delay if indeed the game(s) are rained out today.
March 27, 2025 at 1:26 pm #278108Still looks like rain in the St. Louis area. Anybody nearby that can update us on the weather?
This board seems to be quiet so far today. Does everybody realize this is indeed Opening Day?

Does nobody with the Cardinals have a clue when it comes to lineups?????
March 27, 2025 at 1:42 pm #278112Is Gray still slated to work?
March 27, 2025 at 2:04 pm #278113I see that Ollie is still obsessed with the LH, RH, LH, etc… approach.
March 27, 2025 at 2:04 pm #278114The game is in weather delay. No new start time has been provided.
March 27, 2025 at 3:07 pm #278117Well mlb.tv is not working for me. I have tried to dial in to the Orioles-Blue Jays games on all my devices and get a network error every time. I can bring up the recorded programs, but the live stuff does not work.
I wonder if they are getting bombarded with people wanting access and it is tripping the system?
March 27, 2025 at 3:30 pm #278118
stlcard25ParticipantNo MLB.tv here either. That’s bad timing for a game hoping to grow.
March 27, 2025 at 3:31 pm #278119My Pink Freebie seemed frozen for 45 seconds.
I’m getting nothing but errors and failed authorization.
I have plenty of bandwidth. I watched a few days ago, even live iirc.March 27, 2025 at 3:38 pm #278120New estimated start times:
Ceremonies 4:00
Game 4:45March 27, 2025 at 5:22 pm #278127Was Willie McGee at opening day today? I was a little distracted, but I didn’t see him come out with the other red jackets…
March 27, 2025 at 6:05 pm #278132Well, the terrible lineup has scored 4 runs in 4 innings to lead 4-0 behind the pitching of the “hurt” Sonny Gray.
March 27, 2025 at 6:06 pm #278133Willie was not in anything I saw and I think I saw the whole ceremony.
March 27, 2025 at 6:11 pm #278135Meatball to Harry.
March 27, 2025 at 6:13 pm #278137Yep, Bader made him pay for hanging the breaking ball.
March 27, 2025 at 6:14 pm #278138DEFENSE!
March 27, 2025 at 6:19 pm #278139Donovan bails out his pitcher with the nice play to start the 4-6-3.
March 27, 2025 at 6:23 pm #27814077 and done.
March 27, 2025 at 6:31 pm #278143Great catch in the right-center gap by Scott to save a run.
March 27, 2025 at 6:33 pm #278144Might have saved the game.
March 27, 2025 at 6:33 pm #278145That is a terrible batting order.
