Great to see Whitey in the house. He was not able to come on the field with the other Hall of Famers, but waved from a box above.

Glad to hear that the White Rat was there!

I am calling this one a 3-1 Cardinal win in those frigid conditions that cause little offense.

And Pugs, that’s quite a feast for din-din. My din-din today will be a ribeye steak in the air fryer, some french fries in the oven, an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew, and a big bowl of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream. Then a couple of 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigars while me and Whitey Herdog are on the couch for the game.

    r/Esteemed Rat

p.s. I am sure Whitey Herdog will coax a few bites of the ribeye from me..:)

Contreras and Donovan going down are tough breaks, Pages is more than a formidable backup catcher and Herrera will be more than fine.

Are there any reports of anything broken, etc?

Look at how everyone is bundled up. 47 degrees is pretty darn warm. Oh my….I just saw a few fans in attendance wearing ear muffs…..wow! Up here in the frozen tundra we have 6 inches of snow on the ground right now and people are running around in shorts.

That’s a pretty fair din-din yourself, Rat. Don’t shortchange the HerDog!

Siani is simply amazing with the leather. If he could hit just .270 with 15 homers a year, you’d never get him out of a starting lineup.

Did you see Jazz Chisholm with a full face mask like it is 20 below? Maybe the cold will get in his head.

Lynn is sporting quite the belly. And his beard is just starting to turn gray. At this pace, he’ll make a great mall Santa by the winter of 2025.

For some odd reason it feels a lot colder than 47 degrees today. There’s not even a lot of wind. It’s overcast, but that’s about it. Must be some damp air.

In my view LL takes on too much of a Sasquatch look to ever be a mall Santa. He’d scare the poor little kids half to death. I wouldn’t let my baby granddaughter anywhere near him…Haha!

Never mind on my Chisholm criticism. Arenado has one, too…

Jazz has a good excuse. Brian. He’s from the Bahamas.

Ha! Keep dreaming Pugs. He might hit .220 with 5 home runs. But he will walk over 10% of the time so there’s that.

Herrera launches a moon shot to left that eclipses the wall…..with ease. Guess he likes hitting cleanup.

I confess to being a hopeless dreamer….and a hopeless romantic too, Jnevel.

Boy our first 3 batters hit it about 1000 combined feet. Not bad.

Yeah, I thought Walker really got it. Nice play by the Marlin CF’er.

Herrera making a continued case for regular playing time either at catcher or as a DH. Seems like the time is now for this kid.

Ivan should get plenty chances. I’m going to guess a bit upwards of 250 PA’s.

Burleson hit a bullet to the opposite field that almost carried out. Good to see Burly take that kind of a swing against the lefty.

Shady with his first game thread post…..after starting a Cardinal Nation rookie record 33 new threads. Looks like you’re going to make it, kid.

And Jake Burger leads off with a homer to left to tie matters up at a run apiece.

Lance gets a big strikeout. He’s racking them up against maybe the worst offense in the majors.
