He’s only registered 2 outs thus far, but I really like what I’m seeing from Gibson. These 3 runs might be enough if we can keep the bullpen in the bullpen for most of this game.

Team D looks good the first few games.

4-0 Birds on a base hit to left by Goldy plating Donovan, whom doubled.

Goldy takes advantage of an RBI situation.

    All 4 runs on 2 out RBI’s. I like 2 out RBI’s.

    1 out RBI’s aren’t bad either, TD.

Some’s better than others, but there is no such thing as bad…

Donovan started both of those rallies.

With that leadoff 2nd inning single, Machado is now 10-28 lifetime vs Gibson.

Machado is quickly erased on a pitcher’s second best friend……your basic garden variety 6-4-3 twin killing.

Billy Williams used to hit him pretty good too.

I wonder if Carpenter’s ever reached base twice in the same game on two base hits that didn’t leave the IF?

Real tough to imagine any hitter getting the best of Bob Gibson over the long haul, TD. Boy that was a scary lineup the cubs had back in the day with the aforementioned Billy Williams, Banks, Santo, Hickman & Company……and some pretty fair starting pitching too with Fergie, Milt Pappas, Holtzman, Hand and the Reuschel brothers. Kind of amazing that they never sniffed playoff play.

It’s gonna take a HR to score Matt 🙂

    Merrill’s first career round tripper.

Let’s get lots more runs and hand this game over to Fernandez from the 7th or 8th inning on.

Yeah, my dad used to drink when watching the ballgames too, TD. I blame him for my utter devotion to Wild Turkey.

Gorman continues his strikeout woes as he swings through his 3rd knuckleball of the night. I guess they don’t practice those at O’Connor High School in Phoenix.

Cards lead it 4-1 as we venture on to inning #5. Gibson in control.

Profar was last a good player in 2018. He’s been at or below replacement value since. And yet here he is again. And he grounds out on a pitch middle middle. Man is it nice to not be playing the Dodgers tonight.

Arenado has upped his OPS by over 300 points tonight going 2 for 3. The mystics of small sample sizes.
