It seems when he plays third the back goes. Just an observation no scientific data to back up this at all.

also…I thought Shildt said Sunday Carp would be back in a couple days …with Wednesday being the full lineup first trot out
still…if he is back tomorrow it is all good…but if the next couple days turns in to MOnday or Tuesday of next week i think we will have a problem with trust
Cardinals manage just three hits and lose to Miami, 6-0, on Wednesday afternoon. St. Louis is 9-14-3 for the spring.
“Dexter was only three extra base hits away from the cycle!” gushed Redbird manager Mike Shildt.
In truth there were a couple of positives. Mayers was sharp, Reyes allowed one runner and whiffed two in his inning of work, and Drew Robinson had 2 of the 3 team knocks. So the marginal guys on talent who are more or less default roster locks did okay.

Gorman with the start! even with the DH that is a big deal
I am pretty high on Woodford. I hope he has a good game tonight. I could envision him the St. Louis rotation this year or next year as a Lance Lynn type.
Munoz is playing in tonight’s game so I would read nothing into who plays in the day game and who plays at night.
Carpenter will not play until Sunday at the earliest. He will stay behind in FL and play in minor league games. Shildt says there is “no question he will be ready” for opening day.
Minor clarification in that Woodford starts the day game against the Yankees. The evening is a bullpen game.
bummer on Carp out until Sunday…seems like that back injury is bit more worrisome than they first reported…being ready to go for opening day is big, but i dont like anyone having tos tart they ear like that
what about Gyorko updates?
Gyorko looks to be in the same boat as Carpenter as far as staying behind in Jupiter and trying to get ready for opening day. P.S. Gyorko’s chances do not seem as high as Carpenter’s, though.
The Cards are 10-15-3 after the split squad split on Thursday. Win at home over the Yankees, loss at the Astros.
