Sell low but also cut the arb salary.
September 30, 2022 at 12:47 pm #202858
stlcard25ParticipantThe Cardinals spent $5M on a guy who did nothing outside of Wrigley Field this year, so I doubt they are going to cut bait on someone in their prime years with actual talent for a few million bucks.
September 30, 2022 at 4:16 pm #202871
jj-cf-stlParticipantThey also spent the minimum on Donovan, Noot, and Carlson, who have all logged outfield starts. If they want to pay 5mil for O’Neills “potential”, he will be here in 2023. Selling low doesn’t bring back much.

cardsfan64ParticipantI miss listening to Wednesdays with Walton!
December 17, 2022 at 11:29 am #209362I do too!
December 17, 2022 at 2:14 pm #209378Couldn’t agree more. Consistently good information, presented with aplomb.
January 3, 2023 at 1:17 pm #210431Good news for those who listened each Wednesday. The new year brings a new host, Martin Kilcoyne. The podcast will be back tomorrow, still at ScoopsWithDannyMac.com!
P.S. Thanks for the compliment, Bob. But I had to look twice as my eyes first saw your comment as “a bomb”! Then again, in todays lingo, I think that is also good! 😉

stlcard25ParticipantGreat news for the dedicated fans of TCN and the consistently best coverage of the Cardinals system anywhere. Looking forward to the new episode.
January 3, 2023 at 2:51 pm #210437Although I’ve never listened to the “Scoops” show, Kilcoyne always struck me as a good journalist. I’m pretty sure he’ll fill in just fine for McLaughlin.

January 18, 2023 at 1:12 pm #211130Today, I shared perspectives from the six prospect pitchers and four position players present at #stlcards Winter Warm-Up. Not surprisingly, all 10 are invited to big-league spring training camp. https://t.co/rMmNQ4uuLJ

January 19, 2023 at 8:10 am #211157Wouldn’t it be fun if Jack is back and Liberatore emerges as a front line starter?
January 19, 2023 at 8:19 am #211158Liberatore was interesting at WWU. He said there was nothing wrong with his offerings, but wants to establish a bulldog mentality on the mound.
Jack said all the right things and seemed in a better state of mind than he’s been in for a long time. He is one whose body language speaks loudly. But it will all depend on his health. Good health in the offseason is different than over 162 games. But he knows he has a lot riding on this season. Maybe the difference between a one year pillow deal for 2024 and $100 million or more on a long term contract.

stlcard25ParticipantI noticed this week that the audio quality for Brian seems to be much better. It’s a little thing, but appreciated whether it’s on the input end or the editing end.
