Interesting comments on your placement of Burleson. I think the community generally believes in his power more than you do, Brian, as we have him 7th and it sounds like you may have him a bit lower. Not that a few slots is a huge difference maker in these things usually.
It is less about belief and more about wanting to see more at Memphis before I consider him that close to the top. Fourth in this system (which is where BA has him) is pretty aggressive.
I agree with that. I had Burleson at 7th, like most of the community it seems. 4th would have put him ahead of several guys who seem to play more important positions, have better results or simply have much better overall tools than Burleson. Still, I think he makes it to the majors and contributes, which I will be happy to eat crow about because I wasn’t excited about him as a draft pick.
Interesting comments on Burleson, again. Looking at his stats, it’s fairly clear that he sold out power for contact as he went up levels. Especially at Memphis, his K rate was down as was his power. But 22 HRs seems like decent pop to me, and I’d think that will show again next year at Memphis as he repeats.
