ParticipantHe will start. At least that’s MLB.com is reporting.
October 11, 2017 at 11:53 am #35796I imagine he came under immense pressure. The Nats are a dysfunctional mess. They deserve to lose.
October 11, 2017 at 12:26 pm #35797Boras involvement?
October 11, 2017 at 5:16 pm #35816Nationals clinging to a 1-0 lead after five innings. An error by Addison Russell allowed the only run to score.
However, unless they can widen their lead by a few more runs would anybody bet against the Cubs coming back to win this game? Its simple for Washington – score a few more runs or you will lose.

October 11, 2017 at 5:46 pm #35818Now the game is in the 7th and the Nationals still lead by 1…

ParticipantGrand slam by Taylor of Davis. 5-0
October 11, 2017 at 6:22 pm #35823Grand Slam on a day with the wind blowing in 16 mph, this one by Michael Taylor off the Cubs relief ace Wade Davis.
5-0 Nationals in the top of the 8th. Strasburg dealing today.

October 11, 2017 at 6:27 pm #35824Why did the genius let Davis even throw another pitch after the HR?
October 11, 2017 at 6:49 pm #35825NJ315
Participant12 pitch battle between Madson and Rizzo. Rizzo grounds to second. 5-0 going to the 9th
October 11, 2017 at 7:28 pm #358305-0 Washington the final.
Game Five tomorrow night in the nation’s capital. Hendricks against Gonzalez. Lester and Arrieta pitched tonight for the Cubs so Quintana will be the relief guy for the Cubs tomorrow night. Scherzer will be in relief for the Nats. My guess is Hendricks cant throw four straight really good games and the Nats get to him.
Irregardless, anybody but the Cubs……

October 11, 2017 at 8:30 pm #35836Yankees out to a 3-0 lead on the Indians. Believe its in the 4th inning now. Kluber has allowed two dongs to Gregorius so far.
Guess the Cardinals aren’t the only team without an Ace……

ParticipantKluber out Miller in for the 5th.
October 11, 2017 at 10:06 pm #35848Top 9th Yankees still up 3-2
I said the Yankees would win Monday after Francona decided for some reason to start Bauer on short rest and he got lit up.
October 11, 2017 at 10:33 pm #35849Now the score is 5-2 top of the 9th, so unless something happens Cleveland’s season will soon be over…
October 11, 2017 at 10:48 pm #35852NJ315
ParticipantYankees win. Good comeback.
October 12, 2017 at 9:51 am #35890Kudos to Strasbburg. He stepped up under pressure and got the job done. Hopefully the Nats can shut the door on the Cubs tonight but I kind of doubt they will considering the Nats have NEVER won a playoff series.
Kudos to the Yankees also. Coming back 0-2 against an Indians team that hardly lost at all in September is amazing. I figured the Yankees were a year away from really making some noise but here they are. They have a tremendous young core just like the Cubs.
As a side note, I don’t know if Matt Holliday even played at all in the series. He got off to a very good start this season and people were fretting that we made a mistake by not bringing him back. Well we didn’t. Same with Matt Adams. He got off to a hot start with the Braves then went back to reality. We shouldn’t grade transactions after a couple of weeks. I know that I am guilty of it myself sometimes.
October 12, 2017 at 7:16 pm #35915Indians are 0-6 in games that would have clinched their last two series.
October 12, 2017 at 7:57 pm #35916NJ315
ParticipantMurphy homers then Michael A Taylor homers it is 4-1 Nats
October 12, 2017 at 8:35 pm #35919NJ315
Participant4-3
October 12, 2017 at 8:52 pm #35920I highly suspected Hendricks couldn’t continue with his torrid pace. And it looks like Gonzalez is done now too. I assume Scherzer is coming into the game in the 5th?
October 12, 2017 at 9:15 pm #35921Matt Wieters has just had the worst inning ever by a catcher in the history of baseball…and the inning isn’t over yet.
October 12, 2017 at 9:20 pm #35922Yep, and the Cubs storm back and take a 7-4 lead against Scherzer. Nationals have the leadoff guy on via walk in the bottom of the 5th.
This one is anybody’s guess……..

October 12, 2017 at 9:39 pm #35923Regardless of Wieters horrible defense, Scherzer was still garbage that inning. Mr. Toothpick should be scrutinized heavily for allowing that inning to unfold like that.
October 12, 2017 at 9:43 pm #35924According to Jeff Long and the MLB rule book the umpires botched that catcher interference call on Wieters
October 12, 2017 at 9:48 pm #359258-4 Cubs in the bottom of the 6th.
The Nationals continue their long history of choking.
