Just got home from a hike and turned on the AAA Championship Game as a prelude to watching the Cards and Braves on TBS in a bit. Go Redbirds!!

After Edman grounded out, Tovar and Mejia singled and Arozarena battled until he got a pitch to hit (there was a wild pitch which scored a run), which he smacked down the left field line for a double. 2-0 Cards with one out.

The sprinkler system just came on in Columbus. It can’t cool Arozarena off…he smacks a single into left. Still 2-0.

Lane Thomas cracks a triple off the wall in left that scores two and it’s 4-0!

The Redbirds are playing good baseball tonight. It’s now 8-0 in the 4th.

Mejia smokes a double over Austin Meadows’ head to score two more for a 10-1 lead in the 6th.

Cabrera appears to throw some smoke. Brian mentioned on the Danny Mac podcast that they’ll have to add him to the 40 after this season so he may be of interest as a call up.

Giovanny Gallegos in to pitch the ninth for Memphis. A bloop sort of single is followed by a high fly ball to Justin Williams for the first out. Then he gets the 4-6-3 twin killing to finish the game. The Memphis Redbirds are the AAA champs!!!
