Some excellent pitching around the organization yesterday. Thomas GS=67 as the redbirds continue to extend their win streak to 10 games. McGreevy GS=68 to go along with his first two starts 59 and 71. Obvious leader for Pitcher of the Month. Rajcic GS=75. He is a second contender for PotM. Previous two starts – 66 and 57. Ceiling rising for all three.

Add Mautz and Hansel to these other three and I can see a couple of promotions in the near future. This is a good reason to be optimistic about the future.

Pete Hansen had a very nice start today as well. 6 innings, 1 hit, 2 walks, and 7 K’s. No runs allowed. Lots of Quality starts all around our minor league teams. Maybe this will rub off on their Major League older cousins!

I think there are 2 road teams that stream games in Florida. So when Palm Beach plays Bradenton and St Lucien you can watch them.

There is some real tough competition for Pitcher of the month.

Sitting in Memphis watching Graceffo pitch today. Couldn’t ask for a more beautiful day!

I’m jealous Jnevel. My wife and have made the trip many times. We always stay in the Peabody in a room on the corner looking down on the entry plaza outside the stadium where the vendors are before the game. When the weather is nice its one of the nicest afternoons imaginable. Haven’t been in a couple years though.

Yeah, we get down here a few times a season. We go down to Beale St and eat and listen to some Blues and then walk over to the stadium. There was quite a large corvette show today.

This far we’re getting no hit. This pitcher Osvaldo Bido looks really good for the Pirates system. Graceffo was cruising until Miguel Andujar absolutely crushed a 2 run shot. Still, I really like Gordon’s demeanor and the way he attacks hitters. But I think ideally he isn’t called up until at least late this season.

One other fun thing. Nothing brings a smile to my face more than seeing Luken Baker walk up to the box right in front of me. That guy is so huge!

We were being no hit and then exploded for 4 runs. Luken started it off with a drilled single to left. Barrera hit himself a 3-run homer which was his third round tripper of the young season. Knizner watch out.

One thing that I didn’t realize was that Wynn actually bats with a toothpick and Baker appears to be using a 4×4. At least that’s what it looks like this close up.

Pallante looks great in his first Memphis action. I’m still crossing my fingers that my prediction that they will now stretch him out to start comes true. Two innings so far. We will see if he gets the 9th as well.

With the Cardinals now at 39 players what pitcher not currently on the 40 man is closest to big league ready? Releasing Mooter (option left but not exercised) may be indicative of another move coming soon.

Motter wasn’t released. He was put on outright waivers. Best guess is he clears and ends up with Memphis.

What they do with the 40-man spot is anyone’s guess. First step is that they have to find 26-man space for Wilking Rodriguez then Waino. So I would be surprised if any current pitchers come onto the 40-man soon.

They could have optioned Motter, leaving him on the 40 man until they need his spot. Which tells me they need his spot. We should find out soon.

When Rodriguez comes back, the path of least resistance is sending Romero back.

Woody is the path of least resistance when Wainwright is ready. I doesn’t matter how Waino looks or who gives us the better chance. I’m sure I don’t need to tell anybody how many reasons there are.

Why do you think Motter has options remaining? That is not my understanding.

I thought he did, maybe not.
