1tough, I did see it on tv. But i ran across the Yankee radio broadcaster calling it on my news feed. It was far better than the call by the tv guys

1982willie…Oh, okay. That makes sense. For a second there, I was going to say if you didn’t have cable, stop on by and watch the games…Haha!

EuroDandy…Yeah. I get that, but you wouldn’t have thought they’d go against the grain and feature all 4 openers yesterday. I guess they use that first day to get you on the hook…Haha!

I know. Maybe it’s because they said one of the objectives with the new 3-game wildcard series format was to not have the top 2 seeds waiting so long to get stale. That’s why there was no travel day in the wildcard series and maybe why they wanted to get them all playing ASAP. That is, if all that is consistent with maximizing the $$$$, lol.

You guys know Bader is going to end up putting in a strong bid for the Babe Ruth Postseason MVP Award. That’s how this kind of thing goes.

This PHI/ATL game’s going on a 3 hr. rain delay. That’s a pretty long delay. That OF down there has to be somewhat sloppy. I wouldn’t be surprised to see plenty of runs scored if they play.

I think it’s about maximum tv exposure far as the ballgames being spread out. The only thing is you have bad weather possibly coming into New York Thursday, why not get the games in when you can.

I thought the reason for no travel in the WC series (which really isn’t a WC series) was so two of the teams would get all 3 games at home?

They won’t get any maximimum TV exposure tonight if they play baseball in Atlanta. Two games will be played almost simualtaneously.

Baderade, good one! And damn weather messing up the profits tonight.

Below is what MLB says about the Wild Card Series and no travel. You can find this and more at:

    https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-playoff-format-faq

What is the format for the Wild Card Series?

Each Wild Card Series game will be played in the home park of the team with the higher seed (so, the Nos. 3 and 4 seeds will have the hosting duties). The games will be scheduled to take place in a three-day window so that the division winners with byes are not forced to wait around longer than is beneficial.

That guy who caught that foul ball with a glove was definitely over 12 years of age. Doesn’t count…

EuroDandy…It just doesn’t make sense to me that with a 2-2-1 format in the LDS, that they have an off day after playing 1 game. You play 1 and have an off day, then play another before requiring another off day for travel. Additionally, they can call it whatever they want, but a WC series isn’t a WC series at all if a division winner participates. Manfred and his minions should be tested for the presence of illegal substances in their bloodstream more frequently than the players. Either that, or ban them from any visits to the “recreational use” dispensaries…

I don’t know who this guy is calling the game on fs1 but he’s very annoying.

1td, fyi. There are other differences in scheduling this year. There will be no travel day off after Game 4 of the division series. So if any of those series go a full 5 games, they will travel to the other city, but no day off. Same is true of the league championship series if it goes beyond 5 games. They will travel to the other city, but no day off. This is different from past years and could impact the number of starters needed.

EuroDandy…Well, that settles it. Keep Manfred and his schedule makers away from the recreational use dispensaries…

Hader saves it in the 9th, a 4-out save. LA & SD tied at 1 game apiece.

Even if Bader goes into full Arozarena mode I have zero regrets about that trade. Monty was very good for us.

I was planning on watching the Cleveland/Yankees game tonight but it’s already been postponed.

I notice a whole bunch of different hairstyles with a lot of these guys in all these post-season games. Looks like they spend a lot of time and money at the coiffures…I don’t recall much of that when I was still a young guy. We simply made a trip to the barber and got a crew cut before every summer so as to avoid the heat and keep the burrs out of our hair…Mrs. 1TD makes about 8 to 10 trips a year to what she considers to be her trusty and faithful hairstylist for a cut, color, curl and get this…”texturizing.” Not only does it cost a small fortune, but she’d fit right in on a modern day Big League roster…

Phillies all over the the Braves 6-0 in the 4th. Strider ambushed by two first pitch taters by Hoskins and Harper. A 3 run HR by Hoskins and then Harper taters-up for the 2 run variety.

Brickhands Hoskins gives a run back. He’s gotta be glad that didn’t turn into more. He’s having a rough go with a couple key defensive miscues this series.
