With Lugo scratched from his start, many are expecting another KC lefty Noah Cameron to start tonight. That would be vs a lefty starter 6 of our last 8 games. We shall see.

I will say I’m pleasantly surprised with this team, here’s to hoping it continues with a royal butt whipping of KC today.

I keep hoping to hear a trade announcement involving Mikolas before the wheels fall off his improbable season….

The acquiring team should demand Pozo be included, If Miles would allow a trade.

Noah Thadeus Cameron. This 6’3 southpaw horse will soon be flipping the calendar for the 26th time. Displays a killer change-up, with a decent curve and cutter also in his repertoire. Average fastball and if you’re looking to coax a free pass off this fellow, good luck with that, as you’ll certainly need it.

What’s for din-din one may ask? I have another wedding to attend later today, thus will be missing both my Saturday trip over to Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse and this all important Cardinals game. Rumor has it that wild jumbo shrimp cocktail and prime rib will be amongst the buffet goodies, so I’ll most likely be concentrating on just those 2 items. No Fiddlers appear to be on the menu, so this would not be a wedding favorable to Rat.

Hey finally a non-afternoon Saturday game. As JJ said, what a streak of lefties the team has been facing lately.

Tonight’s din din, lacking catfish, is a real throwback to home: pork chops, mashed potatoes, a can ‘o corn (not the baseball kind) and cornbread, washed down with iced tea and finished off with coffee and a lemon meringue pie. A Saturday night tribute to my visiting Texas family.

Always a magnifico din-din revelation from Cardinal in France. Too bad that Catfish don’t dwell in the bottom of any waterways in the South of France, so that Cardinal in France could indulge in the Fiddlers a couple of times a week too. Rat is strangely silent today…..hope he’s ok. He most likely spent a late night with Perry, Telly and Big Hoss.

    Silence is golden, Pugs!

Nope, didn’t spend a late night with Perry and the guys. Watched the Angels and Doyers game from Doyer Stadium after the Redbirds game at Cough Man Stadium.

Then after the Angels and Doyers game I watched a DVD of the finals of the 1992 Sands Regency 9-Ball tournament in Reno. That would be Buddy Hall and Johnny Archer. I watched the first half last night and will finish it later tonight after Mannix. Or after Kershaw since he makes his 2025 debut tonight.

And din-din today will be a Hungry Man’s Turkey TV dinner, some deviled eggs, bread and butter, an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew, and a piece of strawberry cream pie from the Amish restaurant. And rest assured, me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch with a cigar or two tonight for the big game.

I happened to see that Wacha takes his turn against the Cardinals on Sunday. I’m pretty sure he’ll be amped up about that. And yeah, I would have thought Rat would be expressing his contentment with the performance of Ivan Herrera’s bat which is now at a .306 career avg. That’s not quite in the same league with Ty Cobb, but it’s a pct. point better than the career avg. of George Brett…In any case, we all know how much Rat loves .300 hitters.

Haha!…I knew he’d show up to see Herrera show the rest of these career .240 hitters how to swing the bat!

Is it possible we have a Pozo sighting?
Lets see if Pozo/Mikolas @ 16.1 IP (3 GS), 1 run allowed, is a mirage.

Disappointed that my man Pozo is not in the lineup. That deducts two hits from our guys this evening, and possibly adds a couple to the Royals. Somehow we need to work out getting Herrera in to the outfield. Have Ivan in right, and Pozo at DH or catcher and you have a playoff caliber group there.

Not sure what’s on tap for din-din, but will check in when it comes to light.

Just checked the Doppler Radar. All clear. No precip in sight. Same thing in the Cincinnati area for the Indians/Redlegs game. Me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch for the first couple of innings from Riverfront Stadium then we will switch over to Cough Man Stadium for first pitch.

Then later tonight I am going to try and watch the first 2-3 innings from Doyer Stadium in Los Angeles. Clayton Kershaw makes his season debut tonight. This will start his 18th campaign for the Doyers. I hope he cherishes it because there’s not many left for him.

Time to jump in the tub, grab a cigar, and hit the couch with Whitey Herdog.

Alright, big announcement. To relieve their catching logjam and add to the pitching for later in the season, the Cardinals have traded Ivan Herrera to the Cubs for the injured Imanaga.

Okay, just kidding. But I do have a big announcement. Din-din is a recipe called “Bourbon Street shrimp & bacon”, with rice on the side. Any Cajun dish calls for a cold, frosty one as the beverage of choice. Would love ice cream as dessert but we don’t have any. Dang!

Go Cards!! And don’t trade Herrera!

This is only the second Big League appearance for the 26 year old lefty that the Cardinals face in tonight’s game. I was a little worried when I took a look at the pitching line of his debut appearance, which came on April 30th of this season. He was the winning pitcher of decision in a turn in which he worked 6.1 shutout innings while allowing only 1 hit. That’s pretty good, but then I happened to see that he donated a total of 5 BB’s in that debut appearance. I never make predictions, especially about the future, but if this lefty affords the Redbirds 5 BB’s in tonight’s game, he won’t at all enjoy his encore performance. I’d have to say that it would be a wise practice for the Cardinal bats to be patient and force this guy to throw strikes.

Sorry to hear about the shortage of ice cream, Bikemike. I have plenty of Edy’s French Vanilla ice cream in the deep freeze, but we were low on Hershey’s chocolate syrup…Obviously, I made a special trip to the grocery store earlier this afternoon…Haha!

I’m guessing that Scott isn’t overjoyed to see another LHP’er looming for tonight’s game. He hasn’t fared too well at all against the last four lefties that have been thrown at the Cardinals in their last five games, but it’s always a good idea to have someone manning up in CF, so he’s in there again tonight…Insofar as facing LHP’ing, it looks like he’s going to do it until he learns it.

Yeah, jj, hopefully he’ll see enough LHP’ing to be able to formulate an effective plan of attack. I’ve come to believe that experience is the only genuine teacher.
