The St. Louis Cardinals player development’s choices as the top Pitcher and co-Players of the Month for July are right-hander Tanner Franklin plus infielder Jack Gurevitch and catcher Leo Bernal. The trio of winners were announced via social media on Thursday, August 13.
Our Minor League Pitcher of the Month is RHP Tanner Franklin!
Franklin, 22, posted a 2.95 ERA (6 ER/18.1 IP), 0.98 WHIP, and 24 SO while allowing only 13 H across four starts with Peoria.

Gurevitch becomes just the 4th #STLCards minor league to hit 10+ HR with at least 17 XBH, 25 RBI, and a .300 average in a single month since 2005, joining Josh Phelps (July 2008), Adolis García (July 2018) & Moisés Gómez (April 2022).

Our co-Minor League Player of the Month is C Leo Bernal!
Bernal, 22, slashed .338/.389/.754 with 6 HR, 7 doubles, a triple and 24 RBI with a 1.143 OPS in July. He registered an extra-base hit in 12 of his 17 games played, with 8 multi-RBI games.

This the second time this season that Gurevitch shared the organization’s Player of the Month honors (also in April when he was with Palm Beach).
