November 16, 2025 at 8:52 am #295894That video clip of Ugueto, he did a nice job staying with kind of a loopy breaking pitch running down and away. Had two strikes on him would be a smart guess. Nice controlled swing and bat control skills that I just don’t see in the launchers coming out of the system lately. It looked kind of awkward as he got the bat on the ball. The prior regime would have hated that swing, IMO, preferring instead a biometrically optimized swing that is repeatable every time and can’t be effectively adjusted to the situation. Gorman and Walker would have missed that pitch by 12 inches or got rung up.
In another clip I noticed the stands were empty. That is too bad.
November 16, 2025 at 6:30 pm #295933AFL games are generally poorly attended, especially day ones. Comparable to Palm Beach. Of course, that changed when Michael Jordan played. The most recent year I recall that attendance burst happened was when Stephen Strasburg was there.
Not that long ago, Mike Trout and Bryce Harper were AFL teammates. That quality of prospect is no longer invited.
January 1, 2026 at 9:29 am #298543The AFL season was the most uneventful one in a long time. I hope next year is different.
