We shall see. The Cardinals have a much larger and more rabid fan base than the Royals have but I haven’t done a deep dive on those rebuilds that you mentioned. Another factor is that with Bloom taking over next winter fans might have more reasonto believe that we headed in the right direction. I think a huge majority of the fan base has soured on Mo.
I may be in the minority but I am actually excited about this process. Am I excited about the potential of having 70-75 win seasons the next couple of years? No of course not, but I am pleased that BDW has finally decided to change course instead of the annual approach of “rob peter to pay paul so we can scrape together a wild card team.” That approach was never feasible and I am glad we are finally doing the smart thing and building a more solid foundation that should help sustain annual success with more financial efficiency. A year or two of pain will be worth it in the long run.

November 14, 2024 at 6:33 am #271698Edit: I was fooled by the league standings page which said Glendale clinched. They did not. Sorry for the mistake. They actually lost on tiebreakers.
The Glendale Desert Dogs lost to the Mesa Solar Sox on Wednesday but still clinched an Arizona Fall League playoff berth. No #STLCards saw action in the game. https://t.co/MOilE2IkZz pic.twitter.com/DMMroCIyj6
