Any reason given yet for pulling Matz? I have no audio at the moment. Bullpen appears to be in character already giving up two runs.
Insofar as the pitchout, I’m just surprised I never see it anymore, but I guess I shouldn’t be because rarely do I ever see a pitcher regularly check on a baserunner to keep him close. They don’t even look over anymore. I don’t get it.
That is a good example of being able to just put it in play when you have to. Two strikes, just got wood on it, and we are tied.

Nooty – Ramrods a shot to left-center….. that’s in for a hit and heading towards the wall and Nooty will trot in the 2nd base with a leadoff double. Looking good now with the big boppers coming up.
Goldy – On 3-2 strikes out swinging on a wayyy inside 2-seemer.
Arenado – Receives an intentional unintentional free pass.
Contreras – Gets whacked on the right upper arm with a heater…..bases booming with Birds for Burleson.
Burleson – Chops a grounder over Graveman’s head where the SS gloves it and the runner going to 2nd base Contreras is out of the baseline so he’s out, but in races Nooty with the tying run. Runners at the corners with 2 down.
Walker – Gets nailed with a pitch and he’s down for the count……this darn Graveman is going to bury someone with his lack of control here….let’s hope Walker is ok….looks like he got hit on the hand. Bases once again crammed with Cards.
Gorman – Strikes out swinging.

A professional hitter ought to be able to get the ball to the outfield when called for. Noot failed at that. Goldy looked lost at that at bat.
2 out with ChiSox at 2nd & 3rd in a 4-3 Cardinal game, so let’s stay with matters shall we?
