This Jake Burger fellow on looks alone, resembles a 1st baseman straight out of the Dubuque, Iowa Saturday night beer softball league.
July 9, 2023 at 2:21 pm #227326Matz once again perfect in the 5th. He now has 8 K’s. If he doesn’t get a Win in this game, he may not get one this year. He deserves 2 wins for the stellar way he’s performed thus far today.
Sweet din-din Cardinal In France! What’s for din-din for yours truly tonight one may inquire? I’ve been heading over to Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse 3-4 times a week lately and I think I’ll grace their presence again this evening.July 9, 2023 at 2:29 pm #227327Great play by Nooty preventing Elvis A. from racing around more than one base leading off the Chicago 6th.
July 9, 2023 at 2:31 pm #227328Well that performance by Matz was a refreshing surprise.
July 9, 2023 at 2:32 pm #227329Ollie is not taking Matz out is he! That Elvis base hit had a velocity off the bat speed of about 25 mph and he’s only thrown 75 pitches.
Enter Dakota Hudson
July 9, 2023 at 2:32 pm #227330I’m afraid I’M MYSTIFIES WHY THRY’RE PULLING mATZ WITH ONLY 45 PITCHES AND IS DOING GREAT.
July 9, 2023 at 2:34 pm #227331Hudson does his job as he induces a twin killing to extinguish the ChiSox minor threat……still 2-1 Good Guys heading to the 7th.
75 pitches, Cardinal In France.
July 9, 2023 at 2:34 pm #227332correcting lazy fingers.
I’m afraid I’m mystified why they’re pulling Matz with only 75 pitches and is doing great.
July 9, 2023 at 2:36 pm #227333Indeed Cardinal In France. This Matz exit would have made a great episode for the old “Unsolved Mysteries” show with Robert Stack.
July 9, 2023 at 2:53 pm #227334Here’s your game.
July 9, 2023 at 2:55 pm #227335I thought we had a GG 3B’man?
July 9, 2023 at 2:56 pm #227336Hudson & Genesis (properly pronounced “Hen-a-sis”) “Cabby” Cabrera’s 7th inning efforts result in the bases being crammed with ChiSox and with 2 out Gorman at 3rd boots an easy grounder and this game is tied at 2. Elvis tries to leave the building with the bases juiced , but instead flies out to Nooty in center to retire the side.
July 9, 2023 at 2:59 pm #227338The game was humming along just fine until Marmol stuck his nose in and started playing musical pitchers, thus depriving poor Matz of a potential W.
July 9, 2023 at 3:01 pm #227339Gregory Santos……not related to Ex-Cub Ex-White Sox 3rd baseman Ron Santo, on to pitch for Chicago in the 8th.
I wholeheartedly agree, Cardinal In France.
July 9, 2023 at 3:02 pm #227340I thought we had a GG 3B’man?
That Nolan is DH’ing today.
July 9, 2023 at 3:02 pm #227341I had no problem with him taking the baseball from Matz, but I’m entirely certain it’s a lousy idea to move guys all around the playing field from day to day.
July 9, 2023 at 3:03 pm #227342The printout said 75 pitches, CiF. OlliMo is not about to get Shildted.
July 9, 2023 at 3:04 pm #227343DeJong singles with 1 out, but is quickly erased trying to take liberties towards 2nd base. You have to know who you can and cannot take liberties with. Back in high school, you knew which fathers you wouldn’t dare mess with….same in baseball…….you have to know which catchers you can take liberties with and this ChiSox catcher you don’t fiddle around with.
July 9, 2023 at 3:05 pm #227344Wow, I wonder i that was supposed to be a hit and run and Fermin missed te sign. DeJong out at 2nd.
July 9, 2023 at 3:08 pm #227345Could be, Bling. Incidentally, when was the last time you saw a pitchout? I’m not sure I’ve seen one all season long.
July 9, 2023 at 3:12 pm #227346That’s 3 free runs today.
July 9, 2023 at 3:12 pm #227347Another defensive boner by Contreras, which immediatly leads to a run.
July 9, 2023 at 3:13 pm #227348And the hits keep coming as Contreras let’s a pitch get by him and the runner takes 3rd. How the official scorer judges that one to be a wild pitch is absolutely ridiculous.
Now a routine fly ball to left scores the lead run…..3-2 Chicago.
July 9, 2023 at 3:18 pm #227349No excuse for the complete lack of good fundamental baseball played by the Cards this year.
Errors, misplays, poor defense that don’t show up as errors, poor base running, poor catcher play behind the plate….
July 9, 2023 at 3:18 pm #227350when was the last time you saw a pitchout? I’m not sure I’ve seen one all season long.
I think that’s a feature in a premium software upgrade that Mo didn’t purchase. You know, like the hidden ball trick and other nonsense.
