Sooo.. The wheels come off and 3 runs later we’re behind again. C’mon man!
July 3, 2023 at 7:51 pm #226411Well, lets see who is hero and who is a goat trying to come back late.
July 3, 2023 at 7:52 pm #226412As for Pete Rose, I was shocked when the Reds did not keep him after ‘78. I thought both sides would do whatever it took to keep him a lifetime Red.
July 3, 2023 at 7:53 pm #226413There is Baker got nothing but down and in and strikes out again. Goat.
July 3, 2023 at 7:53 pm #226414…as Baker swings at a pitch way down and in to K. Five outs left to do something.
July 3, 2023 at 7:53 pm #226415Baker swinging for the downs does not pay off in this ab.
July 3, 2023 at 7:55 pm #226416Actually looks like a decent crowd in south Florida. Usually when I see clips of Marlin games there looks to be a few hundred in attendance.
July 3, 2023 at 7:56 pm #226417Yeah it boggled the mind when Cincy let Pete slip away, BicycleMike. Makes you kind of wonder if they didn’t know of his rabid gambling inclinations? Speaking of gambling, when I lived in Tempe back in the day, me and a few friends would venture into this OTB ( off track betting) facility for drinks and wagers a couple of times a week. And almost without fail, basketball coach Bill Frieder would be in the horse race betting room .
July 3, 2023 at 7:57 pm #226418The announcers are saying looks like 20,000.
July 3, 2023 at 8:02 pm #226419Well guess we scared em that time!
July 3, 2023 at 8:05 pm #226420Well we get one more crack at them, Wooster. Arraez leading off the bottom of the 8th and he grounds out sharply to Goldy……I think he’s pretty much hit every ball on the button tonight, but only has one hit to show for it. Cards switching hurlers…..5-4 Miami.
July 3, 2023 at 8:06 pm #226421You wonder about that as far as Rose, but the Reds did bring him back and even hired him as manager. That might have been Margie Schott though, who was a big fan of the hometown hero.
July 3, 2023 at 8:10 pm #226422Margie Schott and her pooch, Schottzie….. haven’t heard those names in awhile. Before WhiteyHerDog, Lassie and Rin-tin-tin came along, Schottzie may have been one of the most famous dogs ever.
July 3, 2023 at 8:10 pm #226423Pallantes record last year says he should have done better than that.
July 3, 2023 at 8:11 pm #226424Yeah I loved Pallante last year, Wooster. This year? Not so much. You wonder what happened to the guy?
July 3, 2023 at 8:13 pm #226426Goldy laces a base hit to left to start things off properly here in the 9th. Puk pitching.
July 3, 2023 at 8:16 pm #226427Ahhh! Arenado pops out to 2nd. He needed to come up big here. Here’s Contreras…..needs a triple here…… I’d even take a double. On 3-2 he gets rung up on a very high pitch! Gorman grounds out and the Marlins prevail.
July 3, 2023 at 8:19 pm #226429Well, that stunk.
July 3, 2023 at 8:19 pm #226430Wow. This is easily the most brutal season I can remember….
July 3, 2023 at 8:19 pm #226431Cardinals are back in a tie for most blown saves on the season, with 17…
July 3, 2023 at 8:20 pm #226432Oops, posted on the wrong thread, “Another day, another loss”.
July 3, 2023 at 8:21 pm #226433Bikemike summed it up earlier when he said this team simply can’t protect a late lead. An all too common trait for a last place team.
July 3, 2023 at 8:22 pm #226434Well we were good for as long as Mikolas lasted. Go Cardinals! Better keep Hicks hes about the most consistent we got.
July 3, 2023 at 8:22 pm #22643578 games left.
Must go 46-32 .590 just to break even on the year at 81-81.
July 3, 2023 at 8:23 pm #226436As Jackie DeShannon said in her big hit song:
“Another day goes by, still the children cry….”
