All of our relievers Olli is sending in today look like they are cut out of the same mold …..a very clean and efficient mold. 7-4 Birds venturing to the bottom of the 7th

We’ve out everythinged the cubbies today…..out hit them, out runned them…..out errored them…..out managed them…….and thanks to our great and knowledgeable fan base, out classed them.

The pen is getting it done, but I wish we could pile on some more runs. Keeping the walks under control has been a help.

I just saw Mercado in the dugout. I forgot he was on the team.

Contreras is 4 for 4. It must be the water.

Yeah, he’s still hitting .310, Bling, and for a while it looked like he was going to challenge Arraez for the batting title…

FOX scanning the crowd and it’s a thing of beauty seeing all of the scrowls and indifference on the cubbie fans faces.

Baseball is a funny game. I step away on my trip to the airport and hell froze over and they are winning. Wonders never cease.

Scary time as we enter the top of the 8th. Any time you trot out 4-5 relievers in a game, one of them is bound to be not on his game.

It would be huge to be coming off a win going into the homestand against the Yankees and Texas. We badly need to have that go well.

Trouble misting now as Pallante puts runners at 1st & 2nd with just one out……and now a wicked liner to right is….. fortunately hit right at Nooty….whew.

That was a strange play at 2nd it looked like Gorman at 2nd had his back turned to Nootys throw in. Thats alot of trust there? Palante looks tenative with the strike zone. Scaring me there!

I wouldn’t be adverse to just one itty bitty insurance run here in the bottom of the 8th.

Mad Man Madrigal with a leadoff double, thus instilling faith and enthusiasm to the cub players and faithful alike. Let’s squash their dreams and desires right here and right now, Mr. Hicks.

Hicks whiffs Gomes……one down …… let’s stay with the action shall we?

Hoerner – Madrigal to 3rd on a pass ball. On 2-2 Nico nearly gets nicked. Then on 3-2 Hoerner flies out to Nooty a few feet shy of the track in right and Madrigal comes prancing in to score , slicing the Cards lead to 7-5.

Suzuki – Strikes out swinging Ball Game!

Your fantastic final from London, England:

    St. Louis Cardinals 7
    Chicago cubs 5
