Still 8 1/2 frames to go. We should get them.

Arenado whiffed on a similar one yesterday. Not easy plays, but the hard ones are why he makes big bucks.

Look at those pitches. This Stroman is far from the second coming of Fergie Jenkins.

Well, it was a slick DP on the grounder to the pitcher. Too bad it was the bad guys.

Previously, Goldy looked overmatched and couldn’t handle a hittable heater for strike three. That is concerning.

Maybe we can get down to playing some good ball here in the second.

If they don’t make major changes and soon this thing will have a long and lasting effect on the franchise. This isn’t a one or two season problem. This is a major systematic issue.

I haven’t been in this situation since the early 90’s but I am now actively hoping the Cardinals lose. I hope each game is close and hinges on a key boner by someone not in long term plans like DeJong but I am ready to see guys moved out and the best possible draft pick. So bring on the stinker starts by Wainwright. Let VerHagen blow up a couple 5 run messes. Maybe it will finally convince BDW to pull the trigger on Marmol. I have been a more loyal supporter of Mo than many but it is time to go.

The ESPN announcers aren’t Cardinals homers. They are not exactly complimentary. calling out the lack of enthusiasm contrasted with the Cubs. Not what you want on the world wide stage.

They pointed out body language, etc. Said you don’t have to know a lot about baseball to see the difference between the two teama.

DeJong looks like a pip squeek standing in right after Walker. Give him a box to stand on.

And he can’t even put it in play with the sacks jammed and one out. Pitiful

Lol, who didn’t take the easy Vegas money on a one out PDJ strike out with the bases loaded.

I would have taken a sac fly from PDJ.

Wow…..Mancini could have caught that ball with his glove instead of bare handed.

Nah, he only does that with nobody on or with two outs. Otherwise it’s a double play or strike out. Dude should have been released over a year ago, but they are too proud to admit yet another financial mistake. Thank Goodness the Cubs can’t field either.

    Donovan w/a clutch 2-out 2-rbi

Donovan is an actual player, not a contract has been. Nice two out base hit.

Donovan is a throw back. I’d take 8 more just like him.

If you watch Stroman’s pitches, everything is around the edges. On the black. At the top or at the bottom. He seems to put it just where he wants it, and it seems to be geared toward the hitter he is facing. Some guys it up, some, like Golschmidt, its down. In and out. It is very refreshing to see that kind of mastery. The pitching and the game calling. Obviously good game prep and players who can execute. Too bad its the bad guys.

I didn’t see that pull coming. Maybe they are treating it as a bullpen start.

Great, now its the pen. A 2 inning start from Liberace. Oh, but the peripherals !! The spin rate and whatever, 4 pitches, he’s young for level, its early, he’ll be fine.

Woodford gets a nice DP behind him. Maybe after the 3 error first inning they woke up.

Ever ask yourself what happened to the Keystone Kops? I think we’ve found them.

Need Woody to come up big today. So far so good as he sets the cubs down neatly in 1-2-3 fashion in the 4th in a 4-4 ballgame.

Time to grab the lead here as Stroman looks very hittable today.
