after Gorman failed so did Arenado and Contreras. But I got you his failure was bigger. Then there is an error as you mentioned but no mention who committed the error. Yes Nolan failed and Nolan open the door with an error.

Walker is still not ready for prime time.

And in addition to trailing 4-1, I don’t have any confidence that this team has the fortitude to claw back from a 3 run deficit. Yesterday, 2 or 3 innings prior to the roof falling in, I was genuinely concerned that the Cardinals couldn’t stretch out a 5-0 lead against an opponent that displayed the sort of character that battles for an entire game. Today, I strongly sense that the outcome of this game was decided in the home half of the 6th.

People complaining about the lack of RBIs for Goldschmidt seem to miss the fact the guy currently batting 3rd leads the team in RBIs.

The far bigger problem is Contreras in the five spot. Donovan or DeJong should be batting fifth.

I’d slot Eddie or Donnie at 2. Take your pick.

Okay, yeah LA, the guy currently slotted 3rd certainly leads the team in RBI’s. In your view, is he the better hitter than Goldschmidt?

    Gorman redeems himself a little.

There, you see Oliver, you have to shame these guys when they play like slugs. Then they shape up.

Let’s see if they can fight their way off the ropes now that they trail by only 1 run.

Statistically, you want your best hitter hitting second.

Why you put your best hitter at #2

Does him a favor and chases the first pitch.

Yeah, Bling, right away last season I couldn’t help but notice how that baseball reacts off of his bat. It’s just a little different than most others.

I guess they are trying to get some value out of Matz’s contract making him a high leverage reliever.

Yeah, he’s high leverage alright. He’ll pry away a 3 or 4 lead quicker than a wrecking bar.

The bottom of the order up, so we have a chance.

Could use a dong from Walker.

Yeah, you always feel good with DeJong leading off an inning.

Bucs do what they need to do and close out the win. Something our club had failed to do many times this year.

Still plenty of time to make up ground, but again I think that game yesterday may have been the one that defines our season. We just give away far too many ball games.

Starting to feel like the end of April.

The Rockies won, so the Cardinals are officially the worst team in the National League.

Oakland will foil our chance to draft the next Mark Appel.

So much for ‘the turnaround’. Back to holding up the entire league.

9 games under. My prediction is coming true. The Cardinals are really bad BUT the division is also really bad so they will stay ‘in’ the race and this will prevent the organizational changes that need to be made from happening.

    Wash, rinse, repeat.
