after Gorman failed so did Arenado and Contreras. But I got you his failure was bigger. Then there is an error as you mentioned but no mention who committed the error. Yes Nolan failed and Nolan open the door with an error.
June 3, 2023 at 5:54 pm #223121Walker is still not ready for prime time.
June 3, 2023 at 6:00 pm #223122And in addition to trailing 4-1, I don’t have any confidence that this team has the fortitude to claw back from a 3 run deficit. Yesterday, 2 or 3 innings prior to the roof falling in, I was genuinely concerned that the Cardinals couldn’t stretch out a 5-0 lead against an opponent that displayed the sort of character that battles for an entire game. Today, I strongly sense that the outcome of this game was decided in the home half of the 6th.
June 3, 2023 at 6:01 pm #223123People complaining about the lack of RBIs for Goldschmidt seem to miss the fact the guy currently batting 3rd leads the team in RBIs.
The far bigger problem is Contreras in the five spot. Donovan or DeJong should be batting fifth.
June 3, 2023 at 6:01 pm #223124I’d slot Eddie or Donnie at 2. Take your pick.
June 3, 2023 at 6:04 pm #223125Okay, yeah LA, the guy currently slotted 3rd certainly leads the team in RBI’s. In your view, is he the better hitter than Goldschmidt?
June 3, 2023 at 6:10 pm #223126Gorman redeems himself a little.
June 3, 2023 at 6:11 pm #223127There, you see Oliver, you have to shame these guys when they play like slugs. Then they shape up.
June 3, 2023 at 6:11 pm #223128Let’s see if they can fight their way off the ropes now that they trail by only 1 run.
June 3, 2023 at 6:16 pm #223129seriously, that was a lazer beam by Gorman.
June 3, 2023 at 6:16 pm #223130Statistically, you want your best hitter hitting second.
June 3, 2023 at 6:17 pm #223131Does him a favor and chases the first pitch.
June 3, 2023 at 6:19 pm #223132Yeah, Bling, right away last season I couldn’t help but notice how that baseball reacts off of his bat. It’s just a little different than most others.
June 3, 2023 at 6:24 pm #223133I guess they are trying to get some value out of Matz’s contract making him a high leverage reliever.
June 3, 2023 at 6:29 pm #223134Yeah, he’s high leverage alright. He’ll pry away a 3 or 4 lead quicker than a wrecking bar.
June 3, 2023 at 6:32 pm #223135The bottom of the order up, so we have a chance.
June 3, 2023 at 6:33 pm #223136Could use a dong from Walker.
June 3, 2023 at 6:34 pm #223137Yeah, you always feel good with DeJong leading off an inning.
June 3, 2023 at 6:43 pm #223138Bucs do what they need to do and close out the win. Something our club had failed to do many times this year.
Still plenty of time to make up ground, but again I think that game yesterday may have been the one that defines our season. We just give away far too many ball games.
June 3, 2023 at 6:43 pm #223139Starting to feel like the end of April.
June 3, 2023 at 6:43 pm #223140The Rockies won, so the Cardinals are officially the worst team in the National League.
June 3, 2023 at 6:44 pm #223141Thank Goodness for the Oakland A’s.
June 3, 2023 at 6:45 pm #223142Remember the good old days when we were better than the Pirates!
June 3, 2023 at 6:47 pm #223144Oakland will foil our chance to draft the next Mark Appel.
June 3, 2023 at 6:48 pm #223145So much for ‘the turnaround’. Back to holding up the entire league.
9 games under. My prediction is coming true. The Cardinals are really bad BUT the division is also really bad so they will stay ‘in’ the race and this will prevent the organizational changes that need to be made from happening.
Wash, rinse, repeat.
