But our streak is intact! Now 7 games in a row with at least 5 runs allowed.

Some of those were good pitches that they hit. Some were not. Is this the ‘67 Yanks we are playing?

Well, the Reds are in last place and the ’67 Yankees finished 9th in AL, so yeah, maybe.

Kevin Herget. I knew I remembered him. We drafted him in like the 35th round in 2013. Been a while for him to get to the majors.

39th round. Just looked him up. 21 total MLB innings now.

In reference to that ’67 season. Anyone recall that wild last few of days of games over in the AL? The Redbirds had cliched the NL Pennant almost 2 weeks earlier and no one had any idea who they were going to face in the WS until the last day of the AL regular season. Three teams in the AL were neck and neck until the last game was played and decided. I was still a pretty young boy and I recall trying to figure out all the possibilities looking at the standings in the newspaper for those last couple of weeks. I wish I would have tried that hard in math class at school when I was a kid…Haha!

Haha! I genuinely thought you meant the ’27 Murderer’s Row Yankees, Jnevel…I figured you hit the 6 key in place of the 2. At any rate, yeah, that ’61 team was no cupcake either…Haha!

I did mean ‘61 but yeah, ‘27 was awesome too.

Sheesh…10-2 now. Oh well, I guess if you’re going to hit the deck, you may as well hit it hard.

Just now tuning in and I see that Matz is still Matz. Great use of $44M Mo!!

Brett Cecil 2.0. And we are stuck with him for two more years after this one…ugh

Herget chews that bubble gum like he’s mad at it.

We need an 8 run homer.

Yeah, $44M for the guy. That’s a lot of box tops for a booby prize.

Hey look Jnevel. Burly at 1B.

I hope he gets an off-target throw so we can get an idea of how good his hands might me.

About time. I still have no idea why we are wasting our bullpen in this game. Why not Liberatore?

Everyone was kneeling at the alter and hoping for a split against the Dodgers. Now, maybe we can salvage one tomorrow against the Reds. It’s repetitive and hackneyed, but that’s baseball.

In light of the 10-3 final, it’s a bit demoralizing to realize that tonight’s game was over before the 1st inning had ended.

So, what do they do? Say he aggravated last season’s injury and place him on the 10 or 15 day IL? Situate him in the BP or keep allowing him to take a turn every 5th day? I don’t want to see him get the baseball in the middle or tail end of game anytime soon and he doesn’t afford the team a chance when he starts a game. What the heck can they do with him?

The only reasonable options are bullpen or IL. I would actually vote for DFA but I know the Cardinals won’t do that.

Under no circumstance should the Cards sign an ex Blue Jay lefty, ever again.

Yeah, they can’t do that, gscottar. I thought maybe someone may want him. He serves up a lot hits…Motown maybe?
