Cards flashing the leather this inning. Really nice play by DeJong.

It sure was. He doesn’t need to be doing any running anyway. Speaking of running, do teams even attempt to H&R anymore? I don’t think I’ve even seen it attempted all season. If not, they need to resurrect it.

The Cardinals could easily have 7 or 8 hits in the line score. The Dodgers have been perfectly positioned on the IF a number of times.

I’m not sure if there’s tougher consecutive hitters in the game than Betts and Freeman. It almost ain’t fair.

    Didn’t take long.

Three runs ain’t going to cut it.

And I see I made my Margarita just in time. I saw that coming. Always happens when the offense scores a few then stops.

Yeah Marilyn, I had a bad feeling with Betts leading off followed by Freeman in the 6th for the 3rd time through.

Third time through the order the Dodgers have Mikolas figured out. Our pitchers need to learn to be less predictable.

No question they have some good hitters. A couple of them seem like they never make an out and when they do it’s a tough one.

    Nado missed the base. Weird

I don’t get Arenado’s approach sometimes. He took a meatball in the middle of the plate then swung at a low and inside pitch into a double play.

I sometimes wonder if they all don’t panic guess when things don’t go their way.

I’m no hitting expert, but it sure is frustrating to watch.

Interesting that both these teams, known for having good farm systems, have their two best hitters coming from other teams.

    Freeman Braves
    Betts Rod Sox
    Arenado Rockies
    Goldschmidt D-backs

Thank God Marmol did not put Yepez in the OF. I would have turned the game off.

I don’t think I’m alone when I say that when I think of the Dodgers farm system I immediately think of pitching over hitters. In fact, although I’m sure there are a few more, the last hitter I’d term elite that I can think of off the top of my head to come up through the Dodger’s farm system would be Steve Garvey.

And if only they could snag a top of the line pitcher or two from some other teams…

I’ll tell you what…That baseball left in a big hurry and that pitch was by no means a horrible one. Gorman went down and dug it out for a genuine rocket type HR. He’s no joke and I’ve said many times as far back as before he began to struggle last season, that he has a decent chance to hit 40 before he’s through.
