Man, a rare E-3 yesterday and now a rare E-5.

    This game is frustrating.

    I’m having Whiskey Sours tonight.

Great story of Chip at the ‘82 World Series and not getting the foul ball off the bat of Hernandez. 😀

Sounds like a plausible theory, Bikemike. On another note, I’ve never figured out exactly why, but for some odd reason a LH’ed hitter’s rip has always seemed to look a bit more graceful and impressive to me when he barrels up to really put a charge into the baseball. Junior, W. Clark and the guy nobody likes come to mind. I guess some of these mysteries are best summed up with the cross the board explanation that covers everything…”youneverknow”…Haha!

One thing about Matz, he misses way out of the zone a lot. Seems like if he could miss just off the plate more often he would be much more effective.

I didn’t think anyone drank whiskey sours anymore.

Indeed on the “sweet stroke” comment, 1TD. Seems like all of the “sweet” swingers hit lefty – Billy Williams was like that. A guy that looked really good swinging the bat was Rafeal Palmeiro. Will Clark as you said.

Matz did pretty good, but can never get though five. But these days you can say that about a lot of guys.

I will pretty much drink any alcohol except beer.

I love lemons. I love anything sour. Whiskey sours are one of my favs.

Haven’t had a whiskey sour in years. I am basically a beer guy these days. Occasionally my brother-in-law will break out some expensive Scotch, but that is about all the only time I have whiskey.

Oh boy…Yeah, Billy Williams. Gibson couldn’t get him out and my dad always called him, “Willy Billiams”…Haha!

I believe the Cardinals had trade talks with the Cubs about Williams, but never did put a deal together. I think Bing Devine really wanted him, but obviously the cost would be a lot. I might be wrong on this, but I think one deal might have had Steve Carlton going to the Cubs in a deal for Williams.

Not sure “Outman” is a good name for a position player. Should have trained to be a pitcher. 😀

Nice running catch by Nooty. Thought that one was in the gap off the bat.

Guess his defense is his calling card with that name.

Frustrating AB by Arenado. Looked at one down the middle – a pitch you should be able to really turn on. Just missed a double down the line. Then gave himself up on an outside pitch that resulted in a 4-6-3 double play.

Hopefully this is the “good” Hicks.

Edit – 4 pitch walk to Betts leading off. Looks like we have the “bad” Hicks.

…and now an HBP on a two-strike count. Definitely the “bad” version – the poor command Jordan Hicks.

I like the way Chip comments on Hicks hitting 100+, but does not get all giddy and goofy like Danny did.

Hicks battles back!! Good to see. He stuck with the hard stuff that he could control and was able to over power a couple of guys.

Got away with it last night and doubled down in another 1 run game. Need to get some cleats on HP.
