According to ESPN, the last place Cards avg attendance for 16 home games is 39,885. That is good for 2nd in MLB, behind the Dodgers and just ahead of the Yankees. First place Pittsburgh is averaging 15,003.

I’m gonna get really scared if Yepez shows up in left field with a florescent yellow arm sleeve.

How about a white rectangle patch?

I see Nootbaar is hitting 8th. That’s about where a .235 career hitter belongs. Especially against lefties. Hopefully he will start getting some hits and can move up in the lineup, especially against righties. But in no way, shape, or form should he be the leadoff hitter.

Yeah, it’s a little surprising they didn’t outlaw that radiant, glare emitting armsleeve. I always thought those weekend camo unis worn by SD should be ruled out due to safety concerns. Those things obviously increased the chances for OF collisions, HBP’s, etc. Moreover, it wasn’t fair to the other team. You couldn’t see those guys…

I guess you missed the game Rats yesterday. Nootbaar was 4 for 5 from the leadoff spot.

I hope Yepez comes out with both barrels blazing. I think he can be the spark we need and provide a lot of punch.

But he needs to do it, and do it early in this latest stint at the top level. Can’t be flailing away at pitches out of the zone.

Me too, Bikemike. Yepez can certainly provide some RH power production at times, but if I’m honest, I’m not sure Yepez can save us. Hope I’m dead wrong.

    I don’t think O’Neil or Woodford are actually injured….

Yeah, whether or not they are, we all know that they often use that old indian trick.

I’ve seen speculation to that effect ZTR. O’Neill can pull a muscle just walking around, but Woody seems durable. I don’t now.

As to Yepez, he’s hitting .229 in Memphis.

As bad as this season has started thank goodness they didn’t sign Rodon in the off-season that could have been a catastrophic contract for the Cardinals going forward

Maybe NA should have a mystery injury for a few days. He needs to do something to snap out of it.

Lower back tightness ought to do it.

I live near Detroit, and was listening to sports talk radio today for an hour or so. The gist of the conversation was that the Tigers have played a brutal schedule so far. Adjust for that, they said, and the Tigers are a slightly above average team.

I’m not sure lower back tightness will work. Everyone has that…

Detroit’s won 3 in row, BrockLou. Seems like every team the Redbirds play is on a winning streak…

They’ve played better whatever happens. Its a very weak opponent, but still, better.

I’ve forgotten what a 2 out RBI looks like.

Another good outing for Montgomery. The offense needs to add on.
