He may be a 4th OF with flashes of being a starter…it’s interesting that his best year was the 60 game Covid year…looks like he gets exposed over 162
Edit that it looks like 21 was his best year not the COVID year…I have no clue what to make of O’Neil guy is to inconsistent
Cardinals continue their clutch hitting with RISP
April 27, 2023 at 3:49 pm #218068Pittsburg already won, Chicago winning, Brewers off. It’s win this one or drop to NINE games out.
April 27, 2023 at 3:51 pm #218069We were lucky to get a bases loaded chance vs Webb. Too bad we blew it. You don’t get many chances facing a good pitcher like this. At least Mikolas is looking sharp, keeping us in it so far. I would describe out offense as hapless.
April 27, 2023 at 3:54 pm #218070Yeah, the Pirates put another W on the books before this game started, ZTR. They’ve now won 9 of their last 10. Cub’s game now a final 5-2 over SD.
April 27, 2023 at 3:54 pm #218071The first half of 2015 was the last time the Cardinals were really good. They hung on to win 100 but the second half injuries and fatigue took effect and they got crushed 4 games to 1 by the surging Cubs in the Divisional Series that year.
16-18 no playoffs
19 and unlikely run to the NLCS where they were summarily dismissed by the Braves
20-22 Pretty much average to slightly above average making the playoffs from a very weak division and going 1-9 or 1-10 in very abbreviated playoff appearances. In a stronger division the playoff appearances in 20, 21, and 22 probably don’t happen
Pretty much hot garbage really.
April 27, 2023 at 3:55 pm #218072This game is about to be over with the cards inept offense
April 27, 2023 at 3:58 pm #218073Phew!
April 27, 2023 at 3:58 pm #218074Nice play by Romine…
April 27, 2023 at 3:59 pm #218075Really good play by Knizer to give them a chance to win
April 27, 2023 at 4:01 pm #218076Cardinals must want to get to LA in a hurry with the way they are swinging the bats
April 27, 2023 at 4:05 pm #218077Yeah, kind of odd set-up, greyghost. The Dodgers game ended in Pittsburg more than 2 hours ago and they’re probably still aboard a flight back to LA to play the Redbirds tomorrow. If the Cardinals lose this game, they should be made to walk to LA via the Pacific Coast Highway…
April 27, 2023 at 4:13 pm #2180781 hour and 26 minutes to get thru 6 innings
April 27, 2023 at 4:17 pm #218079Better make that hold up
April 27, 2023 at 4:17 pm #218080Yeah, this game’s moving along and could be over pretty quick. The season may be over in a couple weeks.
April 27, 2023 at 4:20 pm #218081That was rare to see a LH’ed hitter get around and turn on a pitch elevated that high and rip it for a HR. That pitch was at or above the letters.
April 27, 2023 at 4:25 pm #218082That’s one way to get it down…
April 27, 2023 at 4:26 pm #218083Finally a break…Brebia coming in for Webb
April 27, 2023 at 4:26 pm #218084He looked safe as milk to me.
April 27, 2023 at 4:28 pm #218085Nice. Pretty important reversal.
April 27, 2023 at 4:30 pm #218086Nootbar has been getting a steady diet of offspeed pitches this series….he got I think 1 fastball that last AB
April 27, 2023 at 4:30 pm #218087Boy that felt good!
April 27, 2023 at 4:34 pm #218088Pulling Mikolas after 95 pitches with a shutout….really not sure that is a sound move even with the next 2 scheduled batters being left handed
April 27, 2023 at 4:35 pm #218089That was a hard pitch to center up, nice bit of hitting.
April 27, 2023 at 4:35 pm #218090I don’t understand the concept of allowing Mikolas to start the inning, record the first out, and then go out and get him at 95 pitches. It doesn’t add up to reason.
April 27, 2023 at 4:40 pm #21809195 pitches when pitching well hard to believe you pull them in that situation, but that is the analytics I guess
