Whenever I see IF’ers and OF’ers converging on a flyball hit to the mid-depth portion of the OF, I think of someone like Descalso, Furcal or Theriot backing up and thinking about Matt Holliday barreling in from LF. It had to have made all of them a little nervous.

Yep ZTR, Woody was decent and gave up just 2 runs in 5 and 1/3. With better defense he would’ve given up just 1 run. The 30-pitch 1st inning kept him from getting that elusive quality start.

I know he was feeling it but man that needs to be in the dirt even with the runner in scoring position. I do believe the runner was on 2nd.
Helsley blew the lead but Edman was the goat of the game despite hitting a homer. However many errors the scorer ended up giving him just double it to get a more accurate picture. Little league defense.
Closing is a tricky game mentally and Helsley wasn’t just unlucky tonight, he gave up some shots. I wonder if there is some psychological baggage lingering from how he cratered in the wildcard series last year?
What the hell is going on around here is right, gscott. Defense was a big let down again. They’re spooked.
