Nice, Burly goes rumbling into second on a ball cut off in the gap. I like a guys who hustles down 9-1 in the 8th.
Love when balls way out the zone are popped out. It shows that a a talented hitter can hit them out from almost anywhere…
A couple of weeks after the Oct. 7th debacle of ’22, I commented on here a few times that I really thought the Redbirds may give Knizner a chance at the primary catcher duties with the departure of Molina. I felt that Kniz had earned the chance after backing up the HOF catcher for several seasons, but I was way wrong on that guess.

Yeah JMack, I think of Vladimir and although he was before my time, I’ve been led to understand that Yogi could stand in the batter’s box and hit a pitch that was thrown in the BP…Haha!
That pitch was way low and inside and he just golfed it out. Kizners hot.. The guy’s built like a fortress, he just needs a little good luck and he could move up to be a star. The Cards have a line-up of good hitters…
There’s a rumor that the Cards are bringing up a pair of brothers, 16 yrs. old name of Lon and Von McDaniels….
I didn’t see the 1st inning, but just saw the replay of the sequence of events. The HPU probably should have pointed at both benches after the brushback. That way, there’s no question on the heave-ho. In my view, the entire umpiring crew needs an extra umpiring 101 course.
Did not see this one although it was on in the BBQ place we went to for dinner last night. I just did not have a view of the television. Looked ugly, but the entree season has been that way.
As for Knizner, I have always felt he would hit okay if played regularly, given his numbers in AAA. Seems like a good teammate as well.
