Sheesh – Matz certainly not looking like he did in Florida. Either pitches way off the plate, or batting practice deliveries. Riley might be better than Arenado, but he does not get the publicity Nolan gets.

No slap on Arenado, just a comment that Riley is really good.

Weird seeing another “Murphy” in an Atlanta uniform.

The only issue I sometimes have with Nado is that at times he seems to try too hard to make the highlight reel. He demonstrated that tendency in the last half inning when he tried to turn 2 when it was entirely clear he should have held on to the baseball. Goldy bailed him out.

Somebody needs to tell Mo it’s late July.

Man, these guys are really hammering us! Is that Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews, and Joe Adcock at the plate?

Not one good start the first time through the rotation.

    Flaherty got handed a miracle.

Warmed over dog feces; not even fresh, lol

A lineup of all righties is dumb. I hope the guy goes 1 inning and they bring in a righty, just to teach Ollie not to do whatever the computer says. The ideal R-L-R-L lineup is time honored for a reason. It not only works now, but throughout the game whoever they bring in

    Amen brother

Still only 3-0. Last night Marmol let Woodford stay in and he finished up pretty good. Maybe if Matz can settle in and get in a good groove, we can chip away and make this a contest.

ATL making a lot of solid contact. If this keeps up, Matz is going to look like poor Jerry Quarry out there…

That’s what they did last night to close to within 2 runs, Bikemike. Then the Redbird manager decided to pack it in and hand the baseball to Hicks.

This Dodd kid looks good – has command of his pitches, which makes all the difference. When you are around the zone, especially with the pitch clock where you get the ball and fire, you keep the defense on their toes and things tend to go your way.

Even the outs have been scorched.

Seems like there have been a couple of balls hit to right that Walker sort of gave up on. Not totally sure of course, but seems like he let up a little to play the bounce rather than go after it.

I agree, BikeMike. Especially the 1st inning Acuna single.

Oh man, that really hurt. Two out single to get it to 4-0.

bikemike, I’ve noticed the same about Walker a few times over the first few games. He’ll get much better because he’s a great athlete, but the growing pains might really hurt here and there.

I never feel good when I look at the score and remind myself that it’s still early, but it is.

Haha! A pitcher’s really vulnerable out there on the mound. It’s certainly no place for women and children.

When you see that, you can’t help but think of things like Caratini’s liner off Poncedeleon’s head.
