    ZipWHOPer now at 8.

Sorry Wooster, but you’re short one with your own stat. Understandable though, the Cards are making hard to keep up.

Game is in the 9th and it’s about to go to 10. Hold the phone though, Yepez got a lead off walk.

Arenado fails again. I don’t care what you say, he’s terrible in important situations.

    Clutch hitting non-existent.

What is wrong with this team?????

Once you get the run in, Then you can swing for the fences. Another shut-out in front of 41000.

As Ks said…. “Beat by a Bunt”

Yes Kc like the Biker of the Apopcalypse in Raising Arizona- my favorite movie: He was especially hard on the little things. Jeez with Sosa’s speed and him and Knizners rubber band power I’d be teaching them how to bunt, chop and run. 9th inning was a stand with your hands in your pockets disaster again. Disapointing again.

On a lighter note our ZipWHOPer moves up to 9? EURO says we may need a recount. Still got your paper bags EURO ?

Shutdown by a starting pitcher with an era to start the day near 5.00. Sometimes it’s just not your day or year as this swoon continues year. I know they are missing players, some that miss chunks of time year after year (O’Neill and Bader), but the commitment to compete for more than a wild card is getting really old. They are so predictable like a broken record. Not saying they can’t make a run but this team has zero shot of winning anything significant.

On a side note, and different topic, what do the do in a few weeks? Sell, hold, or buy?

In other words, he’s not doing any worse than the rest of them.

Ollie did OK when things were going OK, but he is in over his head right now. No idea what to do. I think Dickerson and Matz coming back will make matters worse. A .190 hitter and a 6.00 ERA pitcher who both will see plenty of reps.

Then McFarland and Verhagen come back, Oviedo and Fernandez go down. You can just see the bullpen problems coming back.

This team hasn’t been able to hit decent pitching for the last 4 years or more, way to many streak hitters

The Cardinals have scored 7 runs in the last 6 games and three games were shutouts. Beyond pathetic.

Wooster, paper bags are a deep reach into the tool bag. I’m not afraid to use them again, but only after the trade deadline.

7 runs and 4 shutouts in the last 7 games, but who’s counting? Two of those runs were scored in the 10th and 11th innings in the win over the Braves by the runners who starting those innings on 2B.

They were lucky they scored those at all.

    Correct.

And Goldschmidt hit a little weak ground ball to Bohm at 3rdbase in a big time clutch situation and only Bohm’s throwing error saved us from a DP.

But I must point out……Arenado makes, what, $30M+ a year? He’s supposed to be a superstar. Yet he keeps failing time and again. Earn your money Avocado!

Man, we are in quite the funk. A 19 strikeout game followed by two shutouts.

This game featured real good pitching, but terrible offense and I don’t think the manager did the best job either. But he was desperate to make something happen.

What happens now and then in these funks is a club will explode for double-digit runs in a game, and end up losing a series where they out score the opponent. I look for us to have a break out game soon – a 12-2 kind of win. But then go back to some 3-2 and 2-1 losses.

Enough with shuffling the deck chairs around. Maybe Mo should have the band start playing so we don’t panic.

EURO I just checked and you are right about our ZipWHOPer stat. It is at 10 and our recent charge downward has tied last years total by the break! We have a chance to break the 2021 stat! And 8 more games to go!

Great batters fail 7 of 10 PA’s, high leverage or not (RE: clutch). It’s a baseball thing most fans have come to terms with.
