Dickerson is your guy, Hammer. He’s going to get hit here real soon. Beauty of a din-din, Bling! I think you very well may garner din-din of the week honors.

    Bottom of 2

Bader whacks a single the opposite way to right field, where Smith will quickly get it back in.

Yadi grounds out to 3rd with Bader moving all the way around to 3rd, as the 3rd baseman bobbled a possible twin killing.

PDJ is hit by a pitch

Edman lines a base hit to left center that’ll score Harrison Bader, with Paulie stopping at 2nd.

Goldy blisters a base hit to left….DeJong will score with Edman taking 3rd….4-0 Good Guys.

O’Neill rips a liner to center, but unfortunately it’s right in the vicinity of Varshow who will catch it, but in trots Edman with the Cardinals 5th run of the early evening.

Arenado flies out to Smith in short right.

I can’t remember when we had 3 sac flies in one game.

I can’t remember when we had 3 sac flies in one game.

Let alone the first 2 innings, Cardinal27. Maybe we’ll have to pose this question to Skip and all of the fine folks over at the esteemed Elias Sports Bureau.

Man, 5-0 lead I the third with rain coming down, and Dickerson is dinking around, stepping out. In this situation you gotta stay in the box and swing at anything close.

Corbin Martin the new 3rd inning hurler for AZ. Boy that rain seems to be picking up in intensity…..would be a crying shame if this one was called before we got 5 frames in…..and I honestly think I would shed a tear or two if this Redbird romp didn’t go into the books as an official game.

Dickerson (The Hammer’s favorite player)pops out in foul territory to the 3rd baseman Perdomo.

    Carlson whiffs swinging.

Bader grounds out routinely to Ahmed at short.

The new din-din was a pasta salad called “BLT pasta.” Refreshing and tasty on a warm evening here. Also had cheesy bread with it. Healthy too, other than the bacon bits. Real bacon, not phony stuff.

Hudson has it all going on……as he mows them down 1-2-3 here in the 4th with the greatest of ease.

Bottom of 4 . Martin still on for the Diamondbacks.

Yadi lines it beautifully into center for a hit to get the ball rolling for St. Louis.

PDJ whacks a hard grounder that a diving Ahmed can’t catch up with and it’ll head out into center field for yet another Cardinal base hit….Yadi stopping at 2nd as you very well might expect.

Edman on 3-2 grounds it to 2nd and this has “Deuce” written all over it, even with the speedy Edman sprinting out of the box….to Ahmed at 2nd for one and over to 1st to complete the DP. Yadi moves on over to 3rd.

    Goldy grounds out

Sweet….. RatsBuddy especially will appreciate that weather report, Bling

Bottom of 5. Martin still manning the mound.

O’Neill hits it on a line, but right at the left fielder for the first out here in the Redbird 5th.

Arenado flies out softly to Varshow in center.

Dickerson taps one down the 3rd baseline where no one is presently home and that’ll be an infield single as the 3rd baseman Perdomo picks it up……there you go Hammer!

    Carlson flies out to center

Top of 6. Hudson with 66 heaves as we enter this inning.

Perdomo grounds it weakly out to Edman at 2nd who’ll scoop her up and make the short toss on over to Goldy for the out.

Varshow lines a base hit to right……the first for the Diamondbacks on this fine Thursday evening.

Smith walks and for the first time in this ballgame the Diamondbacks find themselves in a viable position to score.

Peralta hits it fairly deep to center where Bader grabs it and fires it in, but not before Varshow is able to take up new residence at 3rd base .

Walker grounds out it to DeJong at short, who will backhand it…and briefly bobble it ….out at first on a very close play and the Hudson shutout remains intact.

Bottom of 6. Martin still pitching for AZ

Bader smokes a liner to right for a hit.

*Bader swipes 2nd as the catcher’s throw goes into shallow center, but not far enough to inspire Harrison to try going any further down the trail.

Yadi hits a grounder up the middle that the 2nd baseman Marte gloves, but he’ll have nowhere to go with it and that’s an infield hit for Yadi. Bader goes to 3rd.

    * Yadi steals 2nd and the fans are going crazy over it…..how about that.

    PDJ strikes out.

Edman drills a base hit to center….Bader will score with Yadi slamming on the brakes at 3rd….and the always looking for an edge or an angle Edman will scramble into 2nd….6-0 Birds.

Martin is getting yanked. Widener the new hurler.

Goldy blisters a base hit to left and that will plate two more Birds…..8-0 Cards.

    O’Neill grounds into a fielder’s choice.

Arenado spanks a liner to left for a hit with O’Neill stopping at 2nd. And the Cardinals have drilled a ton of hard hit balls in this ballgame.

Dickerson flies out to Smith in right.

Bottom of 7. Widener still in for AZ

    Carlson strikes out looking.

Bader on 3-2 fouls off a fistful of quality pitches and then on Widener’s 10th pitch, Harrison walks. Sweet AB

Yadi skies one into center that should pose no great difficulties for Varshow….and he has it for the second out of the Cardinal 7th.

    PDJ flies out to left.

Smith just blasts the first home run at Busch since …..since only God knows when….with a man onboard off Brooks and now we’re looking at an 8-2 Cardinal ballgame.
