Mets hit one of our guys, almost hit at least two more and go crazy cause one of their guys gets hits. I understand it’s the head but really.

Brooks pitching for the Cards in the 9th and Canha promptly greets him with a line single to right. The speedster Jankowski will pinch run for him. McNeil hits a sizzling grounder right at……but under PDJ’s glove at short for a hit with Jankowski racing around to 3rd base and now with the way we’re not hitting, we are in major major danger of losing this ballgame.
McCann strikes out flailing. Need two more just like that.
Nimmo on 3-2 walks on a very close pitch on the outside corner….could easily have been called a strike.
Marte is hit on the upper arm and that will force in New York’s 3rd run of the night.

Dejong commits an error actually two but batter gets credit for a hit. It’s why gold gloves don’t mean as much anymore, scoring is arbitrary.

Cards 0The Mets are leading the East so they are tough competition. I don’t think we are in a funk yet. But we do need to have some guys get started. 3 hits and 4 walks isn’t much of an offense.
Well I thought overall the pitching was really good. I’m still not sold on hicks being a starter and brooks is a little iffy to me but otherwise pretty great. The hitting is atrocious though. The only person really hitting is goldy and he’s not hitting well in critical situations. I will say this. The Mets went for it this season. I applaud teams that are willing to spend the money to do that. Something the Cardinals just generally won’t do to that extent anyway. The Mets have a decent team and a really good pitching staff. So it’s a good measuring stick to see if we have what it takes but hitting wise we aren’t getting it done now anyway. I think the guys will come around though, just takes some time. Outside of one bad untimely inning, our pitching has been good so that’s the positive we can take right now.
Yea Wooster I agree. The Mets have been on fire offensively before coming in here, so lots to be happy about so far.
