Not a good mental state to be in for that long trip to California.

StL is at 87 wins with 14 left to play. .500 ball gets us to 94 wins.

If MIL (at 78 wins) finishes 16-0, they also accumulate 94 wins.

I don’t expect MIL to get to 90 wins.

1 run in the last 23 innings against one of the worst pitching staffs in major league baseball.

bccran…Yeah, that’s a little worrisome. At this stage I’m just going to chalk it up to the old excuse that all good teams do this on occasion and hope the bats wake up Tues. If they don’t, the Cardinals may well wander into a genuine ambush out west.

60 years ago my grandfather owned his own semi ……and he used to haul beer between Indy, Cincy and Chicago.

Now that’s living, Tscurlo! I know it might get old after awhile, but I would have loved spending a couple of years driving around the country like that. On a far less grandiose scale than Tscurlo’s grandfather’s trips, I drove around Wisconsin for a few years with a business venture I started in 2010 and then sold last year. It was a ball. I couldn’t imagine being confined to an office cubicle all day. Being outside cruising around from town-to-town, in good weather and in bad, listening to talk radio all day, was great.

The wonks are supposed to churn out buckets of analytics schmaltz which the coaching staff is supposed to slather all over the players to prepare them for the game. Obviously they need to reboot or upgrade to the current rev or whatever they do to keep it from going sideways. That or heave the wonks over the side chained to their computers.

That Woodford kid just keeps getting the job done, looked very much in control again Sunday.
    2 2/3 inngs, 1 h, 3 k’s, 0 walks 0 runs. Exactly what you want from a mid-relief guy!
He has turned into a nice asset for the Cards.
