Well, that’s two games in a row that the Redbirds flatlined. Hopefully they’ll come back alive tomorrow.

Well I guess Woodford finally had a bad outing. He will probably never see the mound again. Of course our offense did nothing so didn’t really matte.

Cincinnati still leading Milwaukee. 5-2 now in the bottom of the 7th.

Judge no homeruns so far tonight. 4-0 Tampa Bay leads the Yanks in the 7th.

And there’s a rain delay in San Diego. Imagine that. Dodgers and Padres haven’t started yet.

Our pitching has given up 33 hits in the last two games to two very poor offenses. Gonna have to get that turned around.

Reds now lead the Brewers 8-2 in the 9th. That might help us hold on to our slim chance of winning the NL Central. Every day that goes by without the Brewers gaining ground is a good thing. This one is going right down to the wire. I just hope when we visit Pittsburgh for those late three games that we are a different team. The NL Central will be on the line in those games.

And on another good note……Front Row Amy was indeed in attendance tonight!

The Goldschmidt funk continues. He is now down to .327. Freddie Freeman is now at .325. Unless he gets his act together he can kiss that Triple Crown goodbye.

Rats…Cardinals held an 8.5 game lead over Houston in the NLC on Sept. 17th 2006 and had to win their last game of the regular season to barely outpace the Astros for the division crown. Haha!

Goldy definitely has his work cut out for him to hold on to the NL BA lead. Freddie can hit.

Final from County Stadium……Reds 8 Brewers 2. Lead stays at 8 games. Going to need every bit of that as the sky is about to fall. Doom City……..

Whoa! I wake up this morning to discover that our best pitcher got whomped by the worst team in the neighborhood. Can’t have that. Specially after Thursdays licking. We need to spend this evening fattening BAs. Rah Cardinals!

We are not merely losing to the Pirates, we are being bludgeoned by them.

We have an 8-game lead with 23 games left. The Brewers lost by the same score as we did. Like the old saying…take them one game at a time.

In the end, what team played best from the trade deadline until early September is meaningless. If we go cold now and do not pull out of it we are doomed.

Whoever wins in Oct. & Nov. is the team that gets hot at that time.

This is exactly why I don’t really like the expanded playoffs.

Only champions should advance to the playoffs – otherwise it greatly cheapens the regular season.

Go to a 4 division format in each league, division winners advance – everyone else watches from the couch.

No interleague play as that creates unfair schedules.

Amen ZTR. You should have to win something to get into the playoffs. There are far too many “playoffs.”

Every single pitcher has a bad outing now and then. This is the first one for Woodford, he just needs to get back out there and throw up some zeros!
