Why do I feel 1 run is all we get here?

On a good note……the Reds got five runs in the first at Milwaukee. 5-0 Cincinnati after one inning. The Brewers went in order against Lodolo.

Not home to watch but things are looking dim right now. Hopefully we get it going.

Are you hanging out in Kentucky again this weekend, Willie?

I didn’t think we’d see any “Delay’s” this evening. As usual, Thompson is money. We head to the 7th.

Had the right guy up there. BP keeps it at a 2 run deficit, I think the Redbirds come back and win this game.

Their DeJong looks a lot better than our DeJong.

Cool throw back uni’s tonight, but not used to seeing us in blue and the other club in red.

BikeMike…Yeah, it’s odd. I never liked it when SD wore the camos. Wasn’t fair. Made them hard to see.

Top of 8. Chase De Jong still pitching for Crawford……make that Pittsburgh. When I first tuned in tonight, I thought the “Crawford” on the Pirate uni’s said “Cardinals”. I was thinking that it was most hospitable of the home team to honor we visitors in that fashion.

    Arenado strikes out swinging.

    Dickerson grounds out to 2nd.

O’Neill lines a base hit to left

Albert grounds out 5-4 to retire the side.

    Pirates 4
    Cardinals 2

A Chavis 2-run triple off Woodford almost puts this game out of reach….6-2 Pirates.

And now a Mitchell base hit makes it 7-2.

7-2 now. Woodford, off with his head.

Dang, Woody with a rare poor outing. Unless we rally big in the ninth, we will have lost 3 of our last 5 to the two worst teams in the National League.

We have a Delay here……Jason is 1-3 on the evening. He strikes out.

The thing about Woodford is he throws strikes. They squared some up that inning though, plus that seeing eye grounder.

On another good note…..The Jasper Wildcats have a 35-6 lead over the Evansville Bosse Bulldogs very late in the 4th quarter.

And another good note……The Reds still lead the Brewers at Miller Park. 5-2 now in the 5th.

And this was quite the clunker for the Redbirds tonight.

This one has turned into a laugher…..if you’re a Pittsburgh fan….. it’s a crier if you’re a Redbird fan……I must admit though that as of yet, the tears have not started flowing yet. 8-2 Pittsburgh as we head to the 9th. Now if we end up winning this one, we’ll definitely secure “Comeback Team of the Week” honors.

Was thinking Noot would try bunting – he has been successful at that and we need base runners. Not to mention he needs to break out of his slump.

    Cards offense is too inconsistent.
Have to be better. Need better starts from the starters, the game is dictated
    by them.
