CardFrance…Sounds real good. I hope you had an afternoon nap if you’re going to stay up to watch the Redbird/Pirate game…Haha!

For what it’s worth, tonight it was scampi and parmesan with lemon grilled and served with brown rice and a green salad. Would have loved one of Pugs’ Popeye’s pies, but alas the French have never heard of them.

It’s worth a bunch as we all greatly relish your din-din selections, Cardinal In France. And the wonderful French populace would go crazy over Popeye’s apple cinnamon pies. My French is a bit rusty, but I think in the gay Paree, they would be called “Le Popio’s apple cinnamonee pieetos”.

Hey why are the Pirates wearing old Cardinal uniforms???

Haha! Don’t know Pugs, but the caps that the Redbirds are wearing tonight are almost identical to the logo on the caps of the StL. city fire department.

Yah, Gorman has power, but that’s a ballplayer at 2B tonight. I’ll take Donovan over Gorman at 2B.

Can’t really make an argument against a .400 OBP.

Burleson absolutely rips the cover off the ball for his first ML hit……oh no….the lame official scorer has now ruled it an error, so Burley will have to wait a bit for his maiden hit

    Knizner missed an opportunity there

Wasn’t Mitchell Boggs #41? That’s what Burleson is reminding me of with the long hair, big body and #41.

Hey is it just me or does Burley look like a young John Kruk? I have a real good feeling that this kid is going to prove to be very special.

Runners at 2nd to close the 1st, 2nd and bases loaded in the 4th. The Cards have to be a little more opportunistic there.

The E charged to Delay that prevented Burly from recording his first hit reminded me of an article I read on the duties and salaries of an official scorer in MLB. Those guys start out at approx. $50K per season. That ain’t too bad. Get to watch the games and get paid for it.

Where-o-where is kscardsfan when you need him? I wish he’d jump back in these game threads. I liked the details his eye would catch during games.

I’m starting to worry a little about the opposing pitching holding the Cardinal bats in check these last few games. Time for a super-size serving of taters.

Indeed JJ. KsCardFan, though temperamental, is a super chap! And a great eye for the game to boot. Let’s hope he’s merely on a whirlwind vacation and will be returning soon.

WHO IS THIS PITCHER FOR THE PIRATES???

    IS THAT CATFISH CONTRERAS???

Why do all of these no-names always seem to shut us down?????

Indeed TD. Our bats should not be tamed for any kind of lengthy periods of time. Way too much firepower for that.

Yeah Rat, this Catfish “Fiddler” Contreras really has it going on tonight.

jjcfstl…Never saw him comment, but yeah, the more the merrier. I remember on the old MLB.com threads, when the Redbirds won the 7th game of the ’11 WS, the total tally of comments on the game thread the next morning was a little over 10,000. Haha! No kidding.

Well TD…… you’re at home now…..no need for you to go anywhere else. And Mikolas is fooling nobody here in the Pirate 5th. 3-0 BUCS and they have realistic expectations for more

Pugs…MLB.com quit those forums about half way through the ’18 season. I read that some new law raised liability concerns with the powers that be in MLB. It simply disappeared one day.

Edit; I’m a little surprised that someone else on this site hasn’t mentioned that they were once on those old MLB.com forums.

4-0 Pirates now as our Birds continue to experience difficulties against lower rung teams. Looks like we’re going to need another big late inning comeback…… let’s hope they don’t wait until the 9th like they did vs Washington earlier this week……unless they pull it out of course. But 5 run 9th inning comebacks do not grow on trees.

**Glad they’re gone, TD. Your all ours now….. lucky you.

A Goldy leadoff 2-bagger and an Arenado single has our Birds chirping enthusiastic tunes here in the 6th. Cy Contreras is hittable after all, Rat.

Just one last quick comment and I think I speak for all here, TD. It honestly feels like you’ve been here for years. You fit like a glove here at The Cardinal Nation. Looking forward to many years of watching Cardinal baseball with you.

Thanks Pugs. I enjoy this site. I was really impressed with how closely a lot of you guys follow the minor league affiliates, which is in no way near my area of any reasonable amount of knowledge. You guys really know your stuff!
