So having Gorman in there is not much better than having PDJ in there?

    Hard pass.

82willie…I think Atl. has the edge in BP comparison, but other than that, I think the Redbird’s roster matches up pretty even.

As of now, end of August, Cardinals top 4 in OPS (and OPS+) Goldschmidt, Arenado, Pujols, Nootbaar. Nobody guessed that.

I don’t agree, not even close in my eyes. Atlanta won the world series last year and this roster is better than last year’s. The Cardinals are really inconsistent. Sure we got hot here recently but mostly against below 500 teams. Yea we beat the yanks but they were missing guys and they went on a terrible losing period at that time. We’ve struggled all season against good teams. Who are you going to play in the post season. Good teams. Outside of goldy, arenado, and Donovan, find me some consistent guys on this roster. Far as our pitching. Our bullpen has struggled lately. Our starting pitching has been inconsistent at times over all. Sure they have had some great games but I stress consistency hasn’t been there. Potential is there but potential doesn’t win championships. Even our defense has been shaky at times. Are we a good team, yes we are. But at this time unless things change a lot, we have long odds at going deep in playoffs. Is anything possible yes but I wouldn’t stake my life’s fortune on it.

Bling you are right particular about nootbar. I had a feeling that pujols was going to be better than lots thought. Though you could look at that stat and say that other guys have disappointed.

Despite walking 2 and hitting a batter, Morton is getting almost all his borderline off the corner strikes called. Monty hasn’t gotten the same benefit on his through 3 innings.

Yep, bottom 4, molina, pdj, Knizner and o’neill.

Exposed again as the bottom is falling out in the 4th. Evidently too many unreliable hitters in the lineup to consistently win against high quality teams. Gotta score when you get the chance, because they sure do.

Knizner gets the Cards back in the game with a 2-run shot, but Braves get one back next inning. Hope we see more of Knizner doing this down the stretch. He’s been stepping it up lately.

Gorman OPS is .754 PDJ .585 Gorman is 22 in his first season. PDJ is 29. Give me Gorman let PDJ go suck somewhere else. But the defense yeah I know.

Back in it again after Arenado’s 2-run shot. Braves up 5-4.

Oliver, Willies point was which player makes us a better team today. He’s not comparing their careers, their ages or any of that.

Good to see Goldy beat that slow roller out at 1st. Set up Nados dinger. Signs of life.

Only 4 hits by us so far. Knizer dinger Nado 3. Rest of the team needs to get in the game. Goldy couple walks – hit by pitch- one hit. Dickerson really gettin to me not moving Nado at all. Somebody put a rock in his shoe and make him hit it somewhere where they ain’t!

Had to K him twice. How did the HPU not ring him up on that 2-2 pitch?

Maybe we have a good lefty in JoJo

I always find it odd when your SP is a lefty, the opposition sets their lineup to face that lefty, and then the first man out of the pen is a lefty. It worked, nice job JoJo.

Willy, it was the lack of situational hitting that lost last night it, not one error by an infielder. De Jong is no great talent on D and he flat blows on O
