Yepez sent back down, bum De Jong stays up… OK. And the F.O. says they want to win. OK, I got it.

Paul calls Carpenter “Matt I’m afraid I’m gonna get cut”

Did you kill somebody on camera Paul?

    “No”

Matt: You got a guaranteed contract, right?

“Yes, 3 more years, millions added each year”

Carp: Just don’t kill anybody on camera

Sick state of affairs when Yepez is farmed out and dead weight DeJug is still with the Cardinals.

Does it seem to some of you other posters that there’s some bad vibes going on with the Redbirds at the moment? It seems obvious that there are bad vibes in the Milwaukee clubhouse and that might be what saves us. I hope we don’t hit a cold stretch and lose several in a row and fall out of 1st place.

Cabrera was once part of the Big 3 and now he is part of the Memphis shuttle. The bullpen is so fickle.

Rat, if the Cardinals fall out of first place the Cubs will have to get red hot. I think the Brewers are toast.

    Can you be more specific?

Good lineup except I would have Donavan at 2B & DH Gorman.

Well, at least PDJ isn’t in there tonight so there is a hope of getting one or two more hits out of this lineup. We have to come out of this series with something positive to show for it.

The CiF dinner table tonight started with a melon appetizer followed by calves’ liver smothered in onions, duchess potatoes and a Caesar salad.

    Rah Cardinals!

Can I be more specific? Nope, it’s just a hunch.

First, Molina leaves to attend a basketball game.

Second, Helsley is gone for a few games.

Third, Arenado gets tossed, misses a couple of games.

Fourth, yes, I know, paternity leave.

Fifth, bullpen doing bad and Cabby gets demoted.

Just seems to me that things aren’t going all that smoothly.

I have no doubt they will win the division. But I think that will be it. Out on the wildcard round. Unless the send the Dejong down. Get effective work from lefty relievers even if it is just one. And they need consistent offense from people other than Goldy or Arenado. Let’s hope Monty can keep it up tonight. I think we will need 4 starters if we advance on the playoffs. Mikolas,Monty,Waino,Quintana should be ok. If Matz can come back he might better going to the bullpen. Just random thoughts.

A drunk staggers into a tavern with his dog and the bartender immediately says, “forget about it pal, you can’t come in here with that dog.” Drunk says, “calm down, this is a special dog…he can talk!” This only annoys the bartender, but the drunk quickly looks at the dog and says, “what’s on top of a house?” Dog says, “rrroof!” “That’s right, boy!” “And who ate Little Red Riding Hood?” Dog says, “wwwolf!” “That’s right…Good boy!” At this point, the bartender’s really steamed and tells the drunk it’s time to go. Drunk says,”wait a minute” and turns to the dog and asks, “who’s the greatest ballplayer of all time?” Dog says, “Rrruth!” Bartender instantly grabs both the drunk and the dog by the scruff of the collar and throws them out the door onto the cold hard surface of the concrete sidewalk. Dog looks at the drunk and says, “I probably should have said, DiMaggio”…

Yes, perhaps. Memphis is only 7-14 this month…

I can instantly think of a couple of times in which I experienced extremely “bad vibes” and they turned out to be more than a really good thing…Beltran stepping into the box with the bases jammed in the home half of the 9th and Hamilton ripping a 2 run tater in the visitor half of the 10th…

Funny one BW. To Rat’s list of intrigues we could add the supposed Carlson doghouse stint.

I first heard that joke decades ago, only the punch line was Gehrig

These Braves are as good as us. But we can’t get swept!

Yeah, they’re pretty good. That 1st inning E looked like a bad omen. Can’t do that vs. these guys.

With 2 outs, Goldschmidt scores on that double. GRD rule burns.

Unlucky double for Arenado — the bounce over the wall being the unlucky part.

Losing a game or even all games to maybe the best team in baseball isn’t the end of the world. As a total roster we aren’t as good as the braves or some other teams. Are we good enough to beat them here or there , yea but overall we aren’t there. We could maybe even with good fortune beat them in a series, maybe but it isn’t a big surprise if they beat us. Talent more often than not wins over the hope the front office always goes for. Also people talk about it’s good dejong isn’t in there. Well if he’s not in there, we have Gorman out there messing around at second base. Just remember it was his error that got their scoring started yesterday. I believe at the end of the day, better defense will sustain you vs a superior team as opposed to better offense and with how much Gorman strikes out, it’s not much better.
