Haha! The Redbirds home opener in ’23 is vs. the Jays. That’s no typo.

Seeing Eddie sliding over to SS tonight got me thinking about whether or not moving him around the IF may hamper his chance to collect another GG at 2B this season. I hope not. I can’t recall seeing him make a bad play anywhere on the IF this season and I’d like to see him fitted for another GG.

I’ve got my jogging done as well as watering the landscape. All finished. Going to jump in the shower and then me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch for this one. Along with a couple 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigars. We will also catch the ending of the Brewers and Dodgers from Dodger Stadium later tonight.

Ratsbuddy…Enjoy the game and the cigars! I’ll bet 90% of the old photos I have of my dad feature him holding or drawing on a cigar. He was a White Owl guy and he smoked ’em like he was mad at them. Had a TV and radio in the garage to keep mom happy while he smoked those things while watching or listening to the games. My kid brother and I spent a lot of time out there with him. Mom was happy about that too because we were a bit hard on the decor when we swung a bat anywhere in the vicinity of her china cabinet…

I find it hilarious all the people complaining about helsley still being on paternity leave. A good husband and father should be allowed to be there to help his wife and spend time bonding with his kid. Those moments are fleeting and you never get them back. This isn’t the 1950s Sure some things have changed that may not be for the best but some things needed to change. I bet if you ask his team mates, all them have helsleys back. It’s a team game, someone else steps up.

Mikolas getting pounded again, along with walks

The BB certainly didn’t help, but the Cubbies score 3 runs in an inning in which the only hard it ball was the Velazquez double. Oh well, plenty of time.

With 2 ground ball out RBI’s and a base hit bunt, I’d hardly say Mikolas was pounded in that inning.

What now…Move Donovan over to 3B?

Just tuning in Why did Nado get tossed?

Well another mikolas start, another no show by our offense. Mikolas shouldn’t have to shut out the cubs for us to win. Just pitiful.

Wooster…He misplaced his composure on a check-swing third strike on a 3-2 count. I can’t say I blame him. HPU ruled he went around on a more than questionable call.

Willie82…Still plenty of time to push 3 across. Keep it at a 2 run deficit and we’ve got a good chance.

    GO REDBIRDS!

Wooster, I’ll add to what 1td said. It was a bad call, but Arenado was probably also pissed because the HP ump didn’t leave the call up to the 1B ump. Even the cubs crew said Arenado had a beef.

Run spacing is our biggest problem this series.

Just caught the replay on Gameday. He had alot of junk balls on that ab. That was a way outside check swing but you’re right Euro usually the 1b ump makes that call. Thanks 1TD hate to see him out of there von defense too. Cubs are winning playing small ball. Both our big boys out now we need the other guys to! Step up. We got the power out there. They’ve all played the positions wher they’re at before. Go Cardinals

Pujols up in the 6th with two on and one out.

    And he strikes out.

But the Dodgers jump out in front of the Brewers. It’s 4-1 Dodgers heading to the last of the 2nd.

Now 0 for 5 with RISP. Hope this isn’t a rerun of the opener of yesterday’s DH’er.

Miles has featured some nice work in his turn tonight. It’d be nice to get him enough runs for the W or at least 2 to get him off the hook for the L.

Just watched the batting on Gameday. Lister pitched all three card lh’s on outside of zone. Donovan struck out swinging on 3 straight pitches outside of the zone. Needs a longer bat to hit those. Or glasses.

Nothing against Donovan, but if I’ve got the two best corner IF’ers in the entire Big Leagues, I want them in there.
