Good call on the insurance. Now get even more insurance so it doesn’t matter who pitches the last couple innings.

Will Oli bring in Edman and O’Neill for defense?

Dickerson swung at a bunch of junk…no wonder he was put away easily.

1td, the right move I think, as is letting Pallante continue as long as he keeps mowing them down.

Gallegos and Helsley both threw last night. We could reset the pen if we don’t get “save” happy for Helsley’s sake.

EuroDandy…Absolutely. Marmol’s shooting 7’s tonight. Left Gorman in there to get the RBI base hit for the nice 3 run cushion before shoring up the D.

Joe was dead set on taking a walk. Pallante didn’t cooperate and has delivered a fine 7-out performance.

Once again we are seeing why Mo’s deadline moves are going to win the division for us this year (which doesn’t happen every year). Quintana was solid again last night. Montgomery is rock solid again tonight. And getting those guys allows Pallante to go back to the pen, which makes our pen so much tougher.

Meanwhile the Brewers had their morale shredded with the Hader move. I understand why they did it long term but it killed their momentum right now.

LOL at Edmonds dogging Joe for taking 3 pitches down the middle. Sounds like he’s doubting his masculinity, ha.

My best guess is Pallante gets the baseball for the 9th. If he encounters trouble, well IDK.

gscottar, I’m not writing the Cards in as division champs yet, but I agree with what you said. Gotta be one of Mo’s more impactful years at the deadline.

Paul Dejong is not a good hitter, cards need a back up short stop, cause Dejon stinks

Yeah, I liked Bader okay. But I don’t know how the Yankees let JM get away for Harry. Looks like Mozeliak picked their pocket.

Nootbaar with the TOOTBLAN to end the inning, but Edmonds said it might’ve been Pop’s fault. I guess they’ll show a replay after the inning break.

Noot on 3 times. Donovan on 3 times. Fine job at the top of the order.

Yep, Nootbaar did nothing wrong. Pop mis-read it and set Noot up for the kill.

Yep, Euro, they pointed out that Pops made the mistake. Nootbaar was just following the third base coaches instructions.

Gallegos makes me nervous. Hopefully this is a smooth ninth.

How do you walk the lead off guy with a four run lead?

Edmonds laying it out there tonight. Getting on Gallegos’ case for falling behind on the 1st batter with a 5-1 lead and causing the defense to get flat and literally scratch their heads. His slow pace adds to that.

Overmanaging. Searching for a reliever who could have a bad night.
